Not a criticism, because today is the day for righteous screeds and rants. But people will need to start being specific about WHAT needs to be done, beyond “burn Soccer House to the ground.” What are the tangible, actionable items that are going to be put in place/enacted to avoid this in the future. As has been noted

Preeetttyyy sure author is having a larf, folks.

You morons keep saying “half the country”... Guess what, your boy lost the popular vote and has the worst approval ratings in the history of the modern era. Keep thinking “half” the country supports this fetid gopher anus clowncar shitshow.

Yeah, my daughter started playing the game late, so I never saw anything like that. She played travel and had to be ready for 40-50 mph pretty much right away. (U14)

10 mph? :D

I see a lot of people saying trading Ovechkin would be dumb. As a fan of this team for over 30 years, the last 12 with Ovechkin has been EXTREMELY frustrating. He absolutely isn’t “the problem,” but I think at this point, the vast majority of people following this team are certain he’s not “the solution” either.

That’s been my beef with it. Not a perfect analogy, but think about the NFL, MLB, NHL and many soccer leagues around the world that have some form of video review... They wouldn’t allow a system to be implemented if every stadium/venue didn’t meet some minimum requirements to carry out the review.

While I take your point, Williams scoring twice last night is a really good sign. He is EXACTLY the kind of guy the Caps have brought on with little success in years past. Brouwer is a great example. Others include Erat (worst trade in franchise history) and Ribiero. Notable exception to this trend was Ward, who

The stats don’t really line up with you. Midway through the game, the Leafs had something like a dozen more quality shots/chances; by the end of the game, the Caps led in that category by two. The started the game playing like dogshit, they got it together down the stretch.

Andersen made about 6 or 7 amazing glove saves up until that point. Just sayin’. .. The shot was just that good.

Solid concussion policy at play in the ECHL, apparently.

There’s no chance Harbaugh leaves sooner than 5 years into this gig. You vastly underestimate what the school and the town means to him. Vastly. If you don’t think Harbaugh holds bringing M back to glory and winning a National Championship in the same orbit as a Super Bowl ring, you just don’t get the guy. Like you,

Sorry, I haven’t logged into Kinja for awhile.

Yes. :-)

Logan likes it rough, so to speak. Remember he was having some kind of foursome some weeks back and one of the girls slapped the shit out of him, to his great pleasure. He had a similar reaction when he got punched in the face this episode.

I like this kid, but folks have short memories. There were many games when Landon Donovan was clearly the best player on the field. Hell, I remember watching Claudio Reyna play against a number of CONCACAF opponents when he was clearly the best player out there.

Not really debatable. Umps don’t always call a ball verbally. This guy had a slight pause on almost all of his calls.. just his style. But after that *smack* one beat, two beat... You are being a dick if you keep holding. He knew the umps rhythm and he was showing him up. The kid has balls, and that moment was

It’s just bad form. The catcher and the ump have to have some kind of general sense of trust/teamwork. They are often doing stuff like.. Say the ump takes a foul ball off the mask.. Typically, catcher will wander to the mound to give blue some time. Vice versa, ump will clean off the plate if catcher gets winged.

So,

Yeah, it’s the ump mic’d up. And the kid either didn’t understand or was pretending not to understand, which is why ump pulled the relatively brilliant move of going around to brush off the cleanest plate on the planet to eyeball the little dude and let him know to cut the crap. I have to say, this was about the 4th

Yeah, it’s cool. We just have a different prospective on the matter. Bygones.
