If the show ends with such few Garnet-centric episodes I'll not only be disappointed, but also angry. We know so little about her beyond her background as a fusion…

This episode was fun in a way non-plot focused episodes haven't been in a while. Felt very predictable, but in a very enjoyable nostalgic and comfy way. Also it was an Amethyst episode!

By the way, I'm dying for a Garnet arc that expands a bit more on her character. She took the back seat lately, and it's disappointing. Surely there are other aspects about her worth exploring? What was Garnet relationship with Rose? how she saw her as a leader? We know Pearl loved her romantically and Amethyst saw

I'm just glad the episode wasn't swallowed by her grief. Any episode where Pearl has some conflict tends to put everyone else in the background.

Gems trying to kill Steven are basically a running joke at this point, it was even discussed in the show itself.

Where Rebecca said that? I missed this one

You joke, but I'm sure someone on the Tumblr Pearl tag is making this argument right now.

I'm not so sure about that, they already opened the possibility of a new arc with Pearl in "Last One Out of Beach City". Pearl embracing the idea of becoming closer to the humanity she vowed to defend and the possibility of a romance with a human being (Mystery Girl) feels like recipe for a quite amount of episodes.

I mean, I know some people are pointing out that Andy was shocked with the whole Barn and "find out you have a nephew" situation, but they didn't throw the "illegal aliens", queer marriage references and "hippie" lines to suggest uncle Andy was just confused…

Also, did someone else notice the ominous song at the end is slowly changing? I definitively noticed a few seconds more which were different.

I mean, at this point I'm used to SU troll titles

I'm not sure if it's the sudden addition of Andy or if it's the amount of time I stayed without episodes, but a lot of things in this episode felt "off". The pacing, sometimes the animation, and it was also tonally weird. I was so distracted that I felt I didn't engage with the episode the best I could. I still

I think is worth pointing out that Zuke, one of the storyboarders for this ep. is queer herself, and so is a lot of the crewniverse. I understand it's just a gag, but I think it's good to remember that.

this episode was so gay that I felt gayer by the end of it. Bring mysterious pink-haired woman again, please!

Which is - funnily enough - titled "The Answer"

They need to bring her back to the show, tbh. I want a Sugilite rap song!

"I’ve watched this episode three or four times now, and I still don’t
really understand why Garnet couldn’t ask Steven and Amethyst what they
were up to. Is there something really obvious I’m missing, maybe related
to future vision?"

In relation to body design diversity I think the show tends to do a good job. It's indeed refreshing.

Yeah, it's something that often comes up when fictional oppression clashes with real life oppression. Fiction doesn't exist in a vacuum and it's repercussion in real life and how it relates to real life context is inevitable. Specially because these metaphors would not make sense without using our real life context as

Did not link that with ill intent, after reading the "you're projecting too much in the cartoon" I thought that's where you were going. So apologies.
