I’m really amazed that there was significant negative backlash to the first tweet. The word used is “independent” not “indie.” It’s so obviously clear from the verbage and the context of him leaving Konami that he meant independent as in “started my own company” and not independent as.... well, whatever the US games

Honestly I think this is just internet people being overly salty and sensitive, as usual.

Ya’ll don’t think you might be overreacting a bit to an old white woman marveling at Beyonce’s follower count and wondering “What if?”.

I’m possibly one of those few people who’ve read the book of First Blood by David Morrell but not seen the movie (bar the first few and last few minutes).

As a developer, everything about this worries me. It sounds eerily similar to mobile development’s race to the bottom and we all know how that ended: A glutted market full of often low-quality experiences churned out by imitator studios. I’m fine with offering low cost enjoyable gaming experiences, but I worry about

Only tangentially rated, but here’s something awful:

Now is as good a time as any to mention that I’ve never had any use whatsoever for guys named “Shane”.

Hey Shane. I know you created a burner account to comment on that other A.V. Club story on you. I want you to know that I’m Chinese, and I think the things you said about my people and my culture are really, really shitty.

I think comedy ages worse than just about every other genre of entertainment, and that’s something to keep in mind.

I think it’s important to note these comments were fairly recent, too. This isn’t Kevin Hart making a joke that, at the time, wasn’t offensive to most people. (Still a shitty joke, but context matters in comedy.)

What absolutely miserable human beings these people reporting her must be

It’s a classic. Good design and music, pretty basic rhythm game mechanics, but it’s a well-liked artifact from gaming’s past. Also it was designed by Miz.

It was a great read and definitely the investigative journalism that gaming needs more of, but I do agree that you should probably read the article prior to making that statement lol.

“who is it hurting?”.... It’s sad that anyone even begins to think about asking this question, let alone asking it”

The Center for American Progress is a “centrist” organization primarily funded by monied interests and the ThinkProgress site is one of the few productive and progressive things they have accomplished. What is called “centrism” here is right wing in every other part of the world.

Will be interesting to learn what a bunch of commenters, who know absolutely nothing about how pay scales work in Hollywood, think about this.

I would respectfully disagree. I think it’s middle of the road at worst. All the Danny Torrance stuff worked really well I thought. I think King spent too much time trying to get us to understand the villains and not enough time making them actually threatening. With a few tweaks I definitely think it could be a good

Generally speaking the fire department is a lot less likely to pull me from my home, falsely arrest me, or shoot me in the course of an arrest for a minor infraction and then paint me as a drug dealing thug with a thirst for human blood, then do nothing about the bad cops in their midst who continue to perpetuate

okay

I think that’s half of it, the other half are the adults who are jealous/bitter that they are no longer their hot high school selves and take their poor emotional control out on somebody that can’t really defend themselves.
