So accurate. I’ve worked tech-related jobs most of my life and am starting my second year of the Computer Programmer program at my local college this fall. I consider myself very tech savvy and can figure out most devices that come my way but printers are the bane of my existence.

Anyway, “buy American” has a deeply racist past and using that as a guiding principle to buy, well, anything seems kind of strange when “buy local” or “buy union-made” are just sitting right there.

Remember that Erik’s primary goal is to eliminate all cars not named the Fit, and all automakers not named Honda, so take it with a grain of salt.

*rolls eyes*

You’d need to have a reason to care to even Google something. Most people don’t actually care much about cars or where they come from anymore besides probably knowing the big 3, who import a ton of cars anyway.

I think a lot of it is down to people really not giving a shit. I don’t think many people think much about it- they’re aware of the GM/Ford/Chrysler brands being ‘American’*, that reliable family cars are often Japanese and that expensive luxury cars are often German, but that’s probably about it. Hyundai as a name

That’s funny, I just recently watched a few seasons of Alone, and the contestants who can’t fish/hunt successfully almost invariably look like living skeletons by the 4-6 week mark.

Bingo!

Want a comfortable seat and a soft, smooth ride? A Lincoln would be a better choice. Want ride height for driving visibility? An SUV would be a better choice. Want road trip range? Any number of diesel passenger cars meet that need better. Want a powerful engine? How about a Corvette, AMG Mercedes, or an SRT

I’m not so sure about dismissing charge times. Most petrol trucks don’t have a 500 mile range when towing, but no one cares because it takes 5 minutes to fuel them. The same would be true for an EV truck with <500 miles but a 5-10 minute charge time.

I can’t pull a car trailer with that.

That’s the type of narrow minded opinion that believes that cornering ability and a firm ride is the only thing that makes a vehicle fun to drive.

Raise your hand if your sick of these stupid fucking articles.

Please show me a car subculture that doesn't have poseurs.  I wouldn't be surprised if there is a group of people who buy old cabs in Manhattan who drive them around during rush hour just to turn off their "available" light as someone frantically tries to hail them.

I regularly tow large utility-style covered trailers with my Silverado and its small V8 that gives me, even with the trailer, mileage in the high-teens

I’d argue 95% of all cars aren’t used to their full capability, not just off roaders. It’s a lame joke to just call out Jeeps, Raptors, 4Runners, etc when just as many Porsches, Miatas, and M3s don’t ever see a track, or, even when Highlanders, Pilots, and Suburbans never have every seat full moving a small soccer

It’s a fucking Wrangler-fighting Bronco, if it were a rebadged Everest you’d bitch and complain about that too.

It’s a great idea...Long trips where you need a quick roadside nap, perfect

I’m convinced that people on automotive blogs think that anything not sold in the U.S. is automatically cool. This “thing” is hideous and would be torn to shreds in this comment section if Toyota used this design for the Sienna.

Good point.
