OK, so go try to buy one.
OK, so go try to buy one.
Fun fact: It’s been 20 years since the first King Ranch F-series. Yet decent 150k+ mile examples are still bringing 30% of their original sticker.
That’s a pretty BS statement that you have to have a single cab for it to be a “work truck”. The company I worked for almost entirely swapped out their fleet a few hundred single cab F250s and F350s for full on crew cab models. When you’re taking 8 people and shit load of equipment to a job site, it’s much easier and…
That is why I didn’t call you wrong, just misleading.
Great comparison.
1.That 1990 F150 is a short bed regular cab. Not exactly apples to apples. A 1990 Supercab with a short bed has a 138" WB. My dad’s 2010 Supercab has a 145" WB. That’s only around 5% growth in 20 years.
He is also missing width comparison. Here are the comparisons to a 1993 F150. Based on similar cab and suspension types.
Fact check: Misleading.
He doesn’t seem to care much about his own
Erik doesn’t give a shit about cars anyways, unless it’s a Honda Fit.
This is why I drive old stuff, you can tell what it is.
“Economic costs never outweigh lives” That statement is patently false and strictly used to try to provoke guilt.
4th gear: for claiming to be a blog that loves all things automotive, you sure do have a ton of blatant bias against trucks and a certain domestic manufacturer of them
Or maybe, just maybe, people who drive trucks use them on the weekend and rather then pay for 2 vehicles or rent one constantly ,drive it to work too. They have trucks getting around 20 mpg now, brakes better then car brakes. Just because you see a empty truck bed driving doesn’t mean they don’t use it. Also, trucks…
Where did the idea you should get paid for not working come from. You work save some money for a problem down the road. I help family when they need it. I volunteer for the unfortunate. I help out my community when the need arises. I coach kids games. I make less money than the average UAW ubion guy sweeping a floor.…
an F-50 Platinum is not the answer if you enjoy driving
Ah the virtues of getting paid for doing nothing. See how that works.
Okay say i want a safe vehicle to drive. I am single and dont have people i need to transport. I don't want a sports car or boring sedan. I am rebuilding a house. I dont need a truck but i dont need anything in the other categories either. What is wrong with buying a truck?
Nah, don’t make excuses for Erik. He has almost universally shitty takes and a pretty blatant disdain for cars in general. I think a LOT of regular readers are tired of his takes, especially in a time where there isn’t much other content on Jalop.
Its the morning shift in particular. Its always the bad spin on everything. Take Tesla for example. When the plant was opened it was horrible because people were pressured into coming to work. Now they say fine stay home if you are worried and its all but they aren’t getting paid.
