Makes sense to me, trucks have the most utility of any vehicle on the road and the highest retained value/resale historically regardless of fuel prices.

I personally hate working out of vans. Having to step inside a box to look for things is a huge pain versus being able to walk around the truck and reach in to grab what I need. I get vans for applications where equipment/goods need protection, but I’ve been a truck guy for a long time. I can also store sensitive

This. And sorry commenters, coming from a family of construction workers and spending some time in the trade there’s a LOT that a van can’t do. But I do love them personally.

This isn’t exactly breaking news. Ford F series has been the best selling vehicle for decades. The Chevy Silverado/GMC Sierra have sat at #2 for several years too. I don’t see this changing anytime soon. Especially since Pick-ups have gotten more efficient. Should people change their vehicle habits? Sure, but it’s

You do realize Jalopnik is FILLED with writers who live and work near the center of NYC. I used to read almost every article on this site, now I visit about once a week to see if Andrew or David have any new content. You can’t have a perspective on America solely from the middle of its largest city...

If they were that much better people would choose them.

Yeah, posts like this makes Giz’s journalists look like they’re out of touch with 50% of  america. It’s just bad.

It is just easier to throw dirty stuff in the bed of truck and hose it out. By the way, I have actually worked these types of

Nope.  Wagons only served the consumer side.  Trucks service consumers and businesses.  Trucks will always have a market.  Even when they fall out of vogue with the general populace workers will still need them to haul stuff.

Why hate on trucks? I prefer cars too but modern trucks really are the do it all vehicle. They make a lot more sense than an SUV to me.

Some things are fads, and some things are timeless. Trucks are timeless (in the US).

This just in!

You do realize that a lot of people actually work for a living and need trucks, right? That Kale salad you are eating was grown by a farmer that needed a truck. That structure you are living in was built by contractors that needed a truck. The internet you are using to post was installed by a person who was driving a

I traded my sport sedan for a 2020 Tundra right after xmas. Took the best deal I was offered on trade-in, interest rates, price, etc across all other trucks in the segment. I really wanted the GMC 1500, but the 6 dealers within 50 miles of me just wouldn’t deal.

You take that back!  LOL
