There is but it cost a lot of money to do. Even then, the “bulletproof” examples could have been done by an incompetent mechanic and may not be all that bulletproof. Its nowhere near as much of a guarantee as buying an engine famous for factory reliability.

You’re accusations are bullshit. Have you ever been to small towns in America? Like really small towns? The tiny one lane affairs that you have a hard time finding on a map. Probably not.

i havent made up anything, shifted any goalposts, nor am I scared of anything. This is simply my reality. Evs aren’t a great road trip option right now.

I suspect this will make it to the f250's along with the new interior soon even if they don’t fully redesign the exterior.

Actually it isn’t really all that wide. Trucks haven’t gotten any wider since the 60 or 70's at least. Maybe even the 50's. They’re all about 79 in wide giver or take. Government regulations mandate extra marker lights on vehicles over 80 in which things like the dually 1 tons and Raptor have to comply to, however,

They are quite rare in small towns. You’re usually going to find a local running a little cafe out of pretty haphazard looking place thats been tacked onto and patched up for a few generations now. Tables are shoved in whatever corner they can find room and there might be one or two employees.

Lots of projections in this. Probably not worth responding to but fuck it. I like to type.

It’s not the range that’s really the issue but the charging. When you’re already looking at 5+ hour trips or more in this state, it’s hard to justify adding onto that with a vehicle that takes maybe over an hour to top off from 0-100%. Combine this with the lack of chargers in small towns (like 1000 people or less

The current group of EV owners have a bit of a cult thing going. Kinda like the “its a jeep thing” or the motorcycle wave. Its a group with a disproportionate number of enthusiast since you kinda have to be one to drop north of 50k on a vehicle like that. This isn’t something that will survive if EV’s actually do go

The top employer doesn’t mean “they all work” there. Hell, I can’t say I actually know any one that works there. And yes, people also drive every which way for “fun” Hell, I made an 8 or so hour drive all the way down to Presidio then up to Candelara then kept going way out into the desert for fun.

I interpret and intend what I said to not be general. I never said it doesn’t work for anybody in the state. In fact I’ve actually always said more power to the people that make it work for them. But I do maintain that EV aren’t a good option for me or a lot of other people.

The irony of using the word xenophobic to criticize an entire state full of millions of people. Rather amusing. Either way none of what you said is actually true.

There’s a lot more to Texas than just a few interstates. My statement wasn’t meant to be a literal “can you get across Texas” but rather “can people in Texas get where they need to go in the same manner they do with gas vehicles”.

My evidence shows its not viable for me. And it’s not. I don’t want to have to deal with the inherent problems of evs such as the lack of chargers or slow charge times. If you do. Then more power to you.

Good for tjem but a few anecydotes arent evidence that something is a good solution. That's for every individual to decide. The reality is that regardless of what the range Tesla claims there's still a lot of benefits to ice cars over evs and I don't think anyone is incorrect for choosing that over an ev.

Nah man. I love this state and wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

Clearly they aren’t given that the market still sells ice vehicles disproportionately to evs. It’s not even close. And once you look outside the cult of Tesla you’ll see that people still prefer traditional ice vehicles to their ev counterparts or plug in hybrids. Even good ones like the chevy bolt.

Not what I’m arguing or what I said. My point is there’s a lot of holes in teslas charging network including even many major urban centers.

Hey look. Another strawman.

No they really aren't. The question isn't weather there's a charger within 400 miles but rather weather there's one on the way. A lot of times there isn't and you have to plan out a longer trip around where the chargers are located.
