And we know the 3.5eb can make 650 from the factory. Doesn’t mean its a good idea to have every f150 making that much power. Different applications of the engine require different tunes or different parts.

You’d be surprised. It's been my experience most people aren't going to buy more than one vehicle so even the higher trims get used a lot for whatever they happen to be needed for. They don't usually get trashed quite as often since they aren't fleet vehicles but that doesn't mean they don't get used.

None of these match up to the 3x, 5x, or even 10x zoom we’ve seen on the Huawei P40 or Galaxy S20’s, though

I’ve heard a fair number of similar statements but tbh, every honad and Toyota interior I’ve been in hasn’t been anything other than a similar cheapness to Ford and gm. When my mother was cross shopping a crv with the equinox last year, I personally thought the equinox was a little nicer inside. Softer touch surfaces

You do you man but that cyber truck looks terrible and I hate their single screen interiors.

The thing about those nice materials is that they aren’t always what you want in a work vehicle.

I’d take this over the bullshit Tesla is putting out any day of the week.

The latest sync redesign actually looks quite nice imo. Also buttons and knobs are much better for a lot of applications. Especially in a pickup where they get used by gloved hands.

Also, carpet in a pickup seems dumb IMO.

Column shifters were even around when a mechanical linkage was required. My Grandad has his dads old 1957 apache rusting out in the field with a 3 or 4 speed column shifter.

F150 can still be had with column shifters. Its only the higher trims that get the console one.

It’s been my experience that at least in trucks, the interiors tend to fall into the category of rather spartan with a few cheap bits. I’m comparing this against the economy brand cheap cars I’ve driven mainly the 2015 mazda 3 I had for 2 years. In a truck, I’ve seen things like the center console latch break, cracked

If you’re talking about the small screen on the f150, that was really only done when the government required backup cameras and I’ve only ever seen it in the work trims. In a work truck, you don’t want a big ass screen or fancy interior. you want cheap and durable.

Idk about anyone else but I don’t really want a “nice” interior in my truck. I like not having carpet floors or a screen that will look outdated next year and is useless with gloves. I’d rather have stuff that doesn’t break or wear down or at the very least is cheap to replace.

Am I the only one that prefers the column shifters? more out of the way.

I don’t have too much trouble with it unless its in the middle of the bed.

I kinda like my 2014 f150 interior. Its a lot of plastic but most of its textured and it really doesn’t feel all that cheap. The buttons are on the cheaper end but meh that kinda minor. No color display in mine.

I know this is a joke but in terms of screenmageddon, this is one of the better examples. Still has a lot of buttons.

But they’re completely different classes of vehicles and always have been. Makes it kinda a pointless comparison when the midsize segment still exists. Ram just doesn’t currently compete in it.

Its a little taller but higher walls allow for more storage and the higher bed was probably done for a better departure angle off road or maybe stiffer suspension underneath.
