Exactly. I keep thinking of Karla Homolka when I see her.

Obviously, opinions vary. I read Greer in college and have chosen to ignore her since, explicitly because of her transphobia. She will always be a feminism “stepping-stone” of sorts, but I don’t have time for that regressive shit anymore. If my trans sisters aren’t invited, I’m boycotting your shindig.
Crabsolutely. I’m definitely not telling people to avoid her work or that they shouldn’t acquire good insights from her work, but I also believe that they should go in knowing exactly how far her feminism extends, and who it leaves out in the cold.
I appreciate a heads-up about it, and I’m sure I’ll disagree with her on a lot. That’s true of like 95% of the male authors I enjoy though so I try not to judge women writers more harshly and extend the same grain of salt when reading
I think a lot of the folks here bringing that up are responding to the “she’s so great!” tone of some of the earlier comments. Like I said before, it isn’t super relevant to this specific discussion, but at the same time we should avoid hero worship or handwaving away serious issues within the feminist community. It…
Please add Bruce Jones, of West Chester, Ohio to your list. He posted on Facebook that women who marched were probably mentally ill, and also made reference to the “Transvestite alliance.” He has been fired from his real estate firm, but refused to step down or apologize.
Thank goodness for the ones that let us know. At least we can stay away from them.
“Women have very little idea of how much men hate them”
I mean, I can see where he’s going with it in his follow-up.
This is some petty shit and I am living for it.
Hey, this is something we are looking into. Would you mind emailing us which town you live in specifically? Email me and Prachi, julianne@jezebel.com and prachi.gupta@jezebel.com. Thank you much.
What’s with these purity tests that people on the left require of one another?
I also don’t agree with the idea that my talking about my own uterus without adding an aside that uterus does not equal woman is an act of erasure. Talking about my own body doesn’t erase anyone, or mean I’m against trans rights. The kids on tumblr are EMPHATIC that women like me must always refer to themselves a…
I saw a meme complaining that all the signs about pussies and uteruses contributed to trans erasure. I read that piece of criticism as saying that cisgendered women shouldn’t stand up against sexual assault (highlighting Trump’s “pussy” comment) or reproductive rights (“uterus”) because trans women have it worse.…
Uh... you know that diverse groups have diverse opinions and people get to voice them. Progressive people tend to get this. It’s not “infighting” or “eating your own” or whatever else detractors want to call it. Our diverse movement can support and respect multiple opinions at the same time - even ones individuals…
Hillary Clinton rec’d 2.8 million more votes than Donald Trump. He was elected based on an outdated algorithm. Even if the marchers voted for Johnson or Stein, it doesn’t change the fact that HRC won the popular vote.
I’ve said it before, but I loved the effort my local march (in lily-white Kansas) made to make sure that the speakers were diverse- in their race, gender expression, sexual orientation, religion, abilities, class, age, and point of view. The crowd was respectful and receptive to all the different speakers, and…
He was already saying the left is as violent as we accuse the alt-right of being. The only thing that changed is that he’s scared now.
