Hockey features a lot more legitimate scoring chances, it's just that goalies are far more effective (because they're a lot bigger relative to the net). I have absolutely nothing against soccer and the pace of the game, but the only real similarity to hockey is the scoring (which is also lower in soccer).

Soccer is cheap and the world is poor, deal with it.
