They did? That’s awesome. How’d it go? I bet the region really benefitted from the infrastructure improvements that had to be made to support an Olympic Games. They could probably finally get a large number of folks out of those favelas and into some of the re-usable housing, right?

You know what I think could really revitalize Brazil and its several metro areas? The Olympics. Just think about the job opportunities and infusion of cash...would be welcomed with open arms, I’d bet.

The ironic thing is that old diesels were outlawed from the cities because they produced so much soot. But they had very low NoX emissions.
New Diesel (especially those of the Euro5 variant) produce lots of NoX, but less soot.
