I always laugh when people suggest raw carrots as snacks. I have never known a dog who liked them.  The dog we have now is a rescue, and we spent a lot of time gaining her trust.  The time I fed her a raw carrot was the first time she ever looked at me like I betrayed her.  When I tried to teach her fetch and threw

Have you met people with their love of fad diets?

Are you my husband?  I have made the same joke.  The thing is, my dog loves grain.  She would eat a loaf of bread if I let her.  She hates potatoes, though.

Yeah, I don’t understand the point of spending a lot of money on vodka, but I can drop some money on bourbon.

Same here.  I grew up in a food-insecure house, so being an adult with a good job means buying whatever food I want.  I don’t even want to guess how much I have spent on the good chocolate or coffee from that one roaster I love.

I feel like this is lose-lose. The problem with Purina, Pedigree, and such, is that they source a lot of materials from China, and I remember the melamine scare. I had three dogs at the time, and we had to throw out their food and switch to something that was exclusively sourced and made in the US. And most of those

I suspect you are right.

I used to have a beagle mutt, and after watching Fantastic Mr. Fox, I tried to give her a blueberry.  I can tell you for a fact that beagles do not love blueberries.

I discovered this recipe a few years ago, and they have spoiled my dog for all other treats. She normally doesn’t beg for food and stays out of the kitchen, but when she smells me making these she sits under the counter and stares hopefully.  We call them crackies.

Yeah, you’re weird.

Yes!  I was raised on cereal and juice for breakfast everyday.  I have switch to whole grain toast and yogurt (the good, whole fat stuff).  Instead of getting hangry around 10 AM, I am steady until after noon.

Now that I think about it, I used to eat a lot of hashbrowns.  I also ate a lot of pancakes, but I don’t eat either one any more.

Pop/soft drinks/ or if you are weird soda.  When I was in high school and college, I drank it by the gallon.  I think I might have stopped because I was trying to lose weight, but I don’t remember.  Now I go for years without drinking it, and on the rare occasion that I do I can’t have more than a few sips before it

When I read that, I assumed that she had never eaten good mint chocolate chip ice cream.

I looooove hazelnut or chocolate hazelnut gelato.

The only time I have ever had coconut ice cream was in Belize, and it was amazing.  It was so much better than I thought it would be.

Although I whole heartedly agree with Allison’s assessment of vanilla, Aimee’s selections overall are better.

Makes sense. I live in a town where one restaurant closed (it was doing well and had a long wait for reservations but the chef decided that owning a restaurant was just too much work) and another opened in the same spot within 2 weeks. They must have worked out a deal to just keep everything from the previous place.

My husband has never had to work for a major corporation, so he has no idea why all of those Jack Welch jokes on 30 Rock are funny.  I envy him.

I used to work with someone who had the fantasy of running a Cheers type bar.  She had no idea that she could get sued if she overserved someone and they got in a car wreck.
