I agree. It is like all of the people getting upset about the word pussy, but not about Trump bragging about sexual assault.

I missed that. Now I like her even more.
I like her.
I had a similar experience, and I echo what you said about older and newer employees. I am a woman in a male dominated field (although we are getting more women all the time). I tried talking to an older woman that I worked with, and she was completely dismissive because to her it was just how things were. People…
Do you have access to a therapist?
A person’s politics are an expression of their values. You don’t have to agree with everything, but generalities matter. I couldn’t be with someone who supported trump.
I am so sorry. That is such a painful experience. Please let yourself grieve however you need to.
He needs to always demonstrate that he believes women when they say something has happened to them. Never say that it is a not a big deal or they misunderstood or that the offender was just awkward.

I hear you with the representation. When I started reading women authors, I realized just how badly men were writing female characters. It also made me even more aware of the fact that male authors will have a single “strong” female character and call that good enough, but will have a dozen complex male characters.
Good call on both of those.
I have heard of her, but I haven’t read her.
I haven’t read those, but I will look for them.
Try N.K. Jemison. I love her work. Nnedi Okorafor, Naomi Novik, and Becky Chambers are all good, too.
I haven’t read the books listed, but I am glad to see women get recognition. A few years ago, I realized that almost all of the books I read were written by men, so I started seeking out more women authors. Since then, I have come to the conclusion that men are published under a lower standard than women. Especially…
