Have one, can confirm. Though the new design meant the death of it; they didn’t fit in the 97+ trucks, way too long for the engine bay.

I’m not sure $3500 would be enough.

the speedo doesn’t work, and the hand brake cable has given up the ghost in solidarity. However, most alarming perhaps is that the ad says the driveshaft to the back wheels needs to be rebuilt. Meh.

Because hookers and blow would be a better way to invest $3500.

Okay, so I started the week with a Crack Pipe Passat, and dog-diddly-gonit I’m going to go out on one too.

Knock a zero off, and I’m down.

If owing an aging, complicated VW product can be unpleasant, and owning a rare car with obscure parts can be unpleasant, this is all kinds of exponential unpleasant in one vehicle.

I’d star this a thousand times if I could. Apparently, Kinja won’t even let me star it once.

Seldom do I say this about any car, but this is worth $0 unless you parted it out.

I almost forgot - back in the 90s I had a 232 in a Spirit, the oil pump went out. Drove it for a year with no oil pressure, she hopped a little bit but I still drove her to the boneyard. RIP Simone: a mighty fine car!

Could we rename it to, “Jalopnik Motor Car Company,” or JaMoCa for short?

Fortunately she also has an endless supply of fresh linens....

another missed opportunity for an italian gated shifter...

If you care about fun and you dont care about going fast, the lack of power steering makes sense and I agree with the choice.

I don’t know why she didn’t get a full crewcab AND the eight foot bed, but that sure will be handy delivering her artisanal eggs to the farm-to-table joints. Wish I could see inside the truck to see if she’s trading in anything else, or did she give that up?

Forgot about them! Good point.

Saleen is the Buell of the automotive world. They won’t be missed.

I think the money would go muuuuuuch better to buy Jalopnik from Gawker Media, myself.

OMG, Extented cab/8ft box, those are so rare in trucks.
