Can confirm. Used to get stuff from them when I lived in OH and my buddy’s shop installed almost nothing but their parts without many problems.

Only place I ever go that wants my VIN is the dealer. What awful store is this?
I’m a slut (just got back from Advance and Autozone like an hour ago). I seek out the actual part I need and then find the best price. Usually it’s Advanced Auto, Autozone, or Amazon. I don’t by much store brand so I don’t care where it comes from and NAPA is always way more expensive (though I will go there if I need…
Walmart is best for Mobil 1 oil.. Far and away cheaper than anybody. Internet is best for filters.
So on top of that you were doing it outside in the winter... That sucks. I’m glad that days are behind me.
Yeah, it’s the $50k that is never gonna happen. Not unless a super watered down version of the original is what you’re after.
You say that as if Russia can’t start increasing energy prices, dramatically, for the rest of Europe on a whim’s notice. That will also raise prices in the US too.
Is there just a general resistance to learning how to do them the easy way (buying tools, getting a friend to teach/watching videos) BECAUSE discs are easier?
LOL... Another “tip”, if you have a real brake store in town (around here that would be Brake Materials) you can take your shoes and drums in and they will cut the shoes to fit the drums perfectly for $5... or if you buy the parts there it’s free.
Knock the heads off of the shoe pins on the backing plate and they usually pop right off.
That sounds impressively horrible. I really wouldn’t have thought it was possible to get a drum bungled that badly with all of that stuff on the floor.
Gonna happen sooner or later. We’re going to be welcoming our shiny metal overlords soon anyhow.
I’m talking about the hard parts like the adjusters and the actual arms and such. Spring and hardware kits are mandatory. You can usually still get all of the stamped steel tidbits and adjusters and everything from the store, but they’re almost always special order. Much better to just have a box of goodies to sort…
I agree. I also think they would have looked strange on a 240 and I’m very surprised they were the same bolt pattern. Good work!
Ugh... Around here EVERYONE takes it for free. The used oil gets sold and recycled so there’s no reason they wouldn’t.
Yep.
I generally agree with you, and I do believe Trump is trolling, but after years of having weak leadership (and I mean decades) it would be refreshing to have someone with a backbone and I don’t see anyone running who could go toe-to-toe with Putin... except Trump (and maybe he starts WW3 on the way).
I dig the wheels on the Corvair... Old school as hell.
