Steel was deposited on the parts prior to paint. Although that very technically is galvanic corrosion, that isn’t the type of failure I would have in mind for dissimilar metals in a vehicle (because the dissimilar metal shouldn’t have even been there in the first place).

I don’t think most of us can trash talk our employers, or the hand that feeds them, publicly either.

I’m betting a simple call to AMCI, perhaps from an automotive journalist, could get down to the meat of the matter. Perhaps that is what our good scribe is up to right now.

It’s official... I’m never buying a newer car.

I have a buddy with a 31 Ford that has a denim roof, a 400 SBC, and 5 speed. No belts for the same reason. You don’t want to be attached to it.

Back in the days when you needed designated drivers. It seems insane to think about now.

Maximum Overdrive!!!

It won’t matter... They will make you buy a proprietary electrical grid to plug it into and will only allow the car to drive to Cupertino or your house. You also won’t be able to wash it anywhere but the Apple Store and it will come with mandatory bloatware that makes all of your other cars run much slower.

Actually using anything over 400hp at the wheels, meaning hooking and going, is damn hard to do on the street. 600 is usually just a meaningless number tossed around at car shows at that point. Not saying that’s you... Just sayin’...

The point lacking in your theory is that the extra 35 DAYS of labor time was only $1750...

...and oddly enough Toyota seems to be the most popular in the deep south, where I would have never expected anyone to drive a foreign truck.

I understand where you’re coming from. Sometimes the theme of the build weighs more heavily than absolute performance.

Now playing

We all know who wins the real truck war...

That is exactly what I intended to say and I won’t trust that “report” until I see if that is what was going on or if Ford is really only paying their body techs $5/hr for labor.

Ahh yes, the Edelbrock vaccum secondary carbs that ONLY work on 305s/350s with stock cams and heads and ONLY in 600cfm. Buying larger and/or for different applications never works. Again, to Craigslist with thee if thine temper gets it past the trash can on the way.

Do it virtually on your phone since you were texting everywhere you were driving anyhow.

Off the cuff: that sounds like a typical vacuum secondary carb to me. To Craigslist with thee.

Statistically accurate, but not comforting to me. This could also be due in my part my overall displeasure with heights.

Something seems fishy on that one... 35 extra *days* of time was ONLY $1755 more? BS...
