People just need time to change their attitudes. This will go a long way. Believe it or not, social acceptance of alot of groups, have improved drastically in just the last 20 years.

I also have an autistic child with sensory issues. I wouldn’t let him order something if it required such ridiculous effort like removing the grill lines from food.

As a father of a mildly autistic son, who has sensory issues; I would never allow him to act that way in a restaurant. We go to places that have dishes he will eat, or we bring food along. I just can’t grok these ‘grill lines’ type of people.

I’m with ya. But there are always new ones to at least try. I like trying ones that are a bit different from the rest. Maybe they were aged in tequila casks. Or it’s a triple IPA. Whatever.

This is the last I’ll speak on this. You seem to think that every person incarcerated magically gets every medical need of theirs taken care of. Well I got news for you: they don’t. It doesn’t always happen.

Because I do. Because it’s different. I’ve been reading other peoples replies. They’ve already stated the same things I would say.

I’m already concerned about those thing you speak of. But I still have room for feeling that this isn’t something that should be fronted by taxpayers. It’s more of a matter of principle. not about total amount that would be spent.

Regardless of what the AMA says, I can’t get onboard with taxpayers paying for it either. I also don’t see it as the definition of ‘cruel and unusual’ punishment.

It’s sad when my first reaction to that is to think he’s just being an ‘opportunist.’
