Watching Aladdin, I remember it being the coolest cartoon on television. I don't know how well it's aged, but for a show that was aimed a kids, it was just about as perfect as could be.
I look at the rating system as judging each show as relative to the best it's ever done, being at the top of its game.
Definitely better than a B+. And Kevin is flat out wrong that the show didn't do anything surprising. Hell, the show wasn't even subtle about the symbolism they were using as they drove home the main point.

The show is making an honest effort at giving kids a really fun saturday morning action cartoon. The team seems to be working really hard at making the best show they can, but at the same time, don't think that adults are the target demographic like they are in Regular Show or Steven Universe.
I really didn't see anything sexual about the way Peridot and Amethyst were interacting with each other. There were more sparks between Peridot and Steven in the When It Rains episode than this, and again, there wasn't anything sexual there either.
Is it just me, or is Kermit acting pretty much exactly like Liz Lemon did when she was trying to Tracy and Jenna to behave? Liz came across as pretty exhausted and sympathetic, and I get the same impression from Kermit.
On the official Cisco tumblr (yeah, there's such a thing) they actually explain that the holding cells we always see are more like airlocks that rotate and open up into a nice living quarters. It's just that the show doesn't want to blow the budget on that kind of detail.
