It’s reasonable to ask them to do so if that is their job. If they don’t want to do it, no one is forcing them. Sometimes standing up for your rights means accepting sacrifice. I couldn’t refuse to do my job because I despised a client without getting fired. Most people couldn’t. The Rockettes are no different.

I think a lot of people have forgotten that part of protesting is facing the consequences of protesting.

Am I the only one who thinks this is vaguely reasonable? Like, they’re job is to do the shows, and if they don’t want to do this particular show... that’s a fine choice to make but it’s incompatible with the job for apparent reasons. What am I missing?

My boss in my prior job was a micromanager. It was because he did shit for 25 years. The guy was always looking forward to Burning Man and going on vacation. If he did not micromanage, it would mean his job is unnecessary.
