Telling someone else that should be dead instead isn’t any better

It’d be more fun if randos had any idea how to play control.
So he’s human?
So... that’s one side of the story?
I remembered why I don’t frequent this site much anymore..
Uh, CM Punk definitely isn’t a Christian...
It just seems like there’s not nearly enough discussion of Nier’s game design short comings. Personally, the technical ones don’t bother me too much, as I think the game has a great aesthetic, even if all of the enemies look way too similar (obviously there’s a reason for that, but I can’t say that I agree with that…
For me, maybe the sidequests are about the same level of “eh”, but there was always something else that caught my attention while doing them in Zelda, that made them worthwhile for me in the end. Where as Nier, before fast travel, is literally just a four minute jog from point A to point B with almost nothing in…
Honestly, Nier starts to feel samey after the first 4-5 hours or so, in comparison.
I absolutely loved FFXV due to the gameplay, and can’t wait for the DLC.
I dunno, I’ve found almost all of the 50 shrines I’ve done to be quite varied in puzzle solving. It’s rare that I’ve felt deja vu while doing them, outside the tests of strength
I’ve only finished Route A for now, and I honestly kinda struggled to get through it. I’ve heard it gets better. I still want to get others finished, but I personally need a break from the game, as I found myself bored already by the first (overly long, with no save spots) flight sequence in the Route B path.
I’m definitely a gameplay first, story third or fourth type person. Most of my favorite games this gen (Zelda, Destiny, Bloodborne, Dark Souls, Overwatch, Rocket League) are all fairly short on stories, but have masterful gameplay. If there is story, it’s usually obscured, and I love reading about what’s going on in…
agreed. Personally, I wanted to love Nier, especially since my buddies who love all the same type of games as me got so engrossed in it. I think my expectations were either too high, or just misguided
Maybe it’s because of games like Dark Souls, Destiny, Zelda etc, but I’m more into stories that are less traditionally told, and rely on lore more so. Also kind of have become a gameplay first, story second person, and this being my first Platinum game, I don’t think the overly floaty combat is for me personally.
The difference is there’s interesting things to do in between your destinations. Nier is often barren, with few enemies scattered throughout, and few surprises found throughout
I personally found it very hard to get immersed in Nier BECAUSE of Zelda.. going to Nier’s limited world and having so many average fetch quests thrown at you after the almost unlimited creativity in Zelda made it hard to appreciate everything Nier had going on. It’s glaring flaws made it even more difficult
