@Flukie Lukie: That's nice to hear. Thanks.
You can take those power users Chrome, but I'm sticking to Firefox because I'm a super user.
@DJVargas: Yea. In the end all you want is for Windows to auto-login and lock the system right away. So there isn't one single way to achieve this.
@wjglenn: I'm pretty sure all of those AV product where you can manage workstations from a server have a licensing fee.
@DJVargas: I suspect the logon script is ran prior to the startup folder. Feel free to go the startup folder route.
@DJVargas: Yes. Remove everyone, and add yourself as Read. Try that.
@jft135: Another risk is that if someone knows about the script, and your station is unlocked, they can delete it. Next the system boots, it won't auto-lock. Obviously, you'll notice it too.
@DJVargas: 1- If you doubleclick the script, does it lock your station? If no, then the script is not working.
@jft135: Yea, I wonder. If you have Remote Desktop enabled on that user, does it mean anyone can RDP to your machine without a password?
run lusrmgr.msc to get to Local Users and Groups. That will work in XP Pro.
@ghostofmccleve: This just seems to be the login script which is present on XP domain controlers (and I suspect on XP Pro). I won't test the whole thing, but just run lusrmgr.msc (you can bypass the MMC and go straight there)
@Firesphere: I think typing a password is motor memory. Try to type it standing up (instead of sitting down; which I suspect is how you type it normally). It will be "difficult" to type it with the same fluency/speed if your arms aren't positioned the same relative to the keyboard. Fun little experiment :)
nevermind
@gurpswu: Yea. Second line of the article says you need Pro or above. Some people in the thread seem to suggest there are other ways.
