The Jezebel review was so snarky toward Margot Robbie’s performance (I adore her), I was happy to see a change of tone over here. I can’t imagine she performed as poorly as they indicated, regardless how the rest of the movie shakes out.

Next stop, Game of Thrones, right? I know Westworld’s S3 and S4 had some issues, but the characters still pulled me in and I’d rewatch S1 and S2 over and over again if it were still available. If they pull this garbage with Watchmen, I’m dropping a giant squid on HBO. 

Same.  As uncomfortable as SJP and her awkward character makes me, the payoff of that photo in the end scene.  GUTS me and I love it.

Allison Janney also kills in her role, tho you won’t like her because she plays such a hateful person.

Agreed on the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood scene. She was also fantastic in I, Tonya. I’ve watched that movie multiple times now, not because I am a big Tonya Harding fan, but because Margot Robbie sold me so hard on the movie.

Splash would have been Fry’s favorite movie.

I was troubled watching it, too, but it didn’t repel me; it only made me more emotionally invested in Rhaenyra.

We watched this over the weekend in a single push and, overall, liked it. There were some pacing issues, but I’m not familiar enough with the entire lore to have been bothered with any changes to the source material. The Peter Jackson movies are all I had to go on.

Blair Witch Project had the same effect on me. I was lucky enough to see it in a theater filled with people who also were SHOOK by it, which enhanced the tension. Funny Games. That movie fucked me up so much, I didn’t even want to be in a room alone for at least three days.  I asked my husband to stay with me in the bathroom while I showered the next morning - it got under my skin that bad.  

I saw Hereditary in the theater with two friends.  At the end of the movie, I was shaken and wide-eyed while they were both laughing at how bad it was.  I do not understand how they not only didn’t find it scary, but found it laughable.

Honestly, the actress who plays Alicent has such inscrutable facial expressions, I thought she was giving the servant girl poison and pretending it was only moon tea. When she hugged Haelena after asking about the servant girl, that confirmed it for me.

If Rhaenys backs Luke’s claim to the Driftwood Throne, she’ll wed her sons to the queen’s granddaughters (who are also, confusingly, Rhaenyra’s stepdaughters and her cousins. Targaryens!).

I wanted to like this movie and really tried, but yeah, it was seriously boring. The only thing I did like about it were the Cenobites, as I appreciate their designs. The rest? Meh.

God, I loved Coal Miner’s Daughter as a kid. I knew all the songs and could probably recite the movie word for word. That may be due to Sissy Spacek more than Loretta Lynn, but since Loretta personally chose Sissy, and wrote the songs, she gets the credit.

Right? I assumed the title image was Sosie Bacon until I heard the voice and realized it was the older actress. WHAT?
