I think this is probably the best version I've read that actually explains what's going on during a catcall.

wow. reading comprehension isn't your strong point, is it? I certainly didn't imply 'all men are rapists' so please put away your (::cough:: male priviledged) expectation that I'm going to apologize to you for saying something I certainly never said. In fact, I talked a lot about the 'good men' out there - because

I've taken to telling those people why I'm not smiling. Just the other day I was trudging home and the maintenance guy for my building saw me and yelled "You look like someone just killed your puppy!" - which I read as a "why aren't you smiling and cheerful?!" - from about 15 feet away. And I have no rapport with

There's a certain way around the neighborhood I specifically avoid in the mornings when I walk my dog because the church has a soup line that usually results in the sidewalk being crowded with men at 7 in the morning. Once I mentioned to my husband "Oh, I don't go that way in the morning", and he was puzzled. "Oh,

This! Believe it or not, there are women who find their husband getting busy with another woman HOT. Like come home and tell me all about or let me be there in the mix or let me be in the corner watching or show me freakin pics or reenact the whole sitch with me. HOT.

Then again, I don't really know much about black culture

Yes! Thank you! I don't know why people this it's cute to feign ignorance then expect people to break down the issue issue and why it's important to others.

How about you actually read up on why this is important to people instead of insulting aspects of one's culture that you deem to be "the lowest form of"? Don't expect people to do the work for you.

You're totally allowed to have an opinion. What you don't need to do is announce it everywhere you go. Are you not embarrassed to just stroll into this metaphorical room and boast about your ignorance without taking some time to try to figure the conversation first?

You are obviously very far outside the realm of people that know about dancing (seemingly of any kind), so perhaps its better to listen to people who know what they're talking about—or perhaps you're secretly Miley, and trolling us all.

I understood what you meant, but I just don't think you understand the issue. From my interpretation of this, she isn't upset a white girl is "twerking." She just wants her to do it well, and is acknowledging that this twerking "phenomenon" is yet another thing that has been done in black culture for a long time,

Hipsters don't really have hundreds of years of institutional racism and co-opted culture to deal with when their shit goes "mainstream." That's a crappy analogy.

Yeah! Why do we even have terminology anyway? You know? Why can't everything action just go by it's description?

I like the twangy guitar!

I think I'm one of the few who don't have a problem with the video. I mean, straight guys like naked women. I think it's really that simple. I'm a straight lady, I like naked men.

I kind of wish the cast from the original video would get on board and do a swap video. I don't really have issues with the original video. I just think everyone is ridiculously attractive, starting with Pharrell.

Pretty much like in the original, IMO. AS I mentioned previously, Thicke's version, to me, was a perfect visualization of the "How you doin'?" of men and the "Who are you?" of women. I still can't figure why there's such a to-do about it because I thought the purpose was to make fun of everybody.

Nobody was humiliated in the original either....?
