I know... I’ve been staring at these things for years trying to justify the time/money. If i found a group with a track suitable for them in middle TN, I’d be all over it. Need to start scanning craigslist for some lawn mower engines and motorcycle wheels.

Imagine if all great cars were available in “fun” sized for the rest of us gearheads with low budgets. I’d collect ‘em. And I’d have a special shelf built so i could display them like over sized diecast.... sort of like what Barber has for it’s bikes.

Well... if that’s what you want.

About all I’ll ever be able to afford...

My only experience in an Olds was a 91 Cutlass Calais, which was one of the worst cars I’ve ever had.... but just wouldn’t quit. I say worst, because the previous owners had ruined it. I could never get the oil filter out, even took it to a few shops and they couldn’t either, but even putting 50k miles on it in under

Aesthetics... that one thing there will never be 100% agreement on. People like what they like, doesn’t mean what they don’t like won’t sell better.

probably it’s most popular trim...

Exactly. I think merging brands would have been better than killing them. Olds + Buick could have been an incredible brand with some serious Acura/Lexus/Infiniti fighting products. Though rebranding would have been in order, neither “Oldsmobile” nor “Buick” scream high tech luxury.

It really was ahead of it’s time, I believe. If you consider the later introduction of the H2, H3, Xterra, FJ and other “Lifestyle” SUVs that came along in the following years. I would think that even as a full on production (maybe make the 2-door the limited model) it would had a great shot at re-legitimizing Isuzu

and looks like it could still be a new model. Compared to what Isuzu was making at the time (or even what the competition was producing), it was a terrible mistake not to build this.

It really is a shame Olds died. While I think the Buick name sounds better as a brand, Olds was their most forward thinking brand.

Other 90s futurist cars awaiting collectability?

too bad they didn’t build this, a 4 door version may have had a better shot in the market.

There is one at our office complex, in very good condition with a nice roof rack. I know people aren’t crazy about them, a dressed up amigo and all, but I dig them. I think the 90's concept car for the streets aesthetic will eventually have it’s day with collectors and these things will be right there along side some

I suppose it would be nice if my car’s A/C collected the water into a tank or cup instead of just dripping it all over my carpet.

Don’t get me wrong, I love a dodge charger... but couldn’t we get something original? maybe a Superbee?
