I went as an adult male yesterday, and while I definitely felt like a creep when I bought the ticket, I got over it because the movie was so good.

Can we talk about how great Michaela Watkins was in Wet Hot American Summer?

-1 for “Vance.” Has to start with M.

Fair. The one word answer is a distilled thought experiment. And hey, it worked! People who think reading requires the experience of seeing the words for yourself say “no,” and people who think reading is receiving the content of the book say “yes”!

I would not! I just think there’s more to it than the experience of reading than the physicality of the book. For instance, you’ve probably liked some books and disliked others, even though the pages turn similarly and the print smells the same. That’s because of the content.

Fair. But how about this: If you have to give a one-word answer to, “Have you read [BOOK]?” and you only listened to the audiobook, what’s your answer? On the one hand, you did not read the book. On the other hand, you know all the information from the book.

Teach me how to safely read while driving to and from work and I’ll be happy to stop counting audiobooks.
