That is certainly true, but consider this:
I will pay more in registration/inspection/property taxes on my car this year in VA than I would have in CA. That is absurd.

The county literally sends you a bill every 6 months taxing your vehicles. I paid about $200 in “property taxes” for my BRZ this past year.

BUT, not everyone thinks of cars as appliances. I would NEVER drive a corolla for longer than a few months. That would be soul-crushing. Cars are more than transportation devices for some people.
