The Crosstrek is already selling like hotcakes. The WRX is not. Merging the two may hype up internet fan boys, but they don't actually buy cars, they just talk about it on the internet.

Wouldn’t that make a conventional design even more important? How are they going to reel in all those truck posers if they’re selling a spacey moon buggy?

By eliminating the cost of the driver you can lower the price enough so that a significant amount of people will no longer need to own a vehicle at all. That’s the benefit to the rider. Not everyone likes or cares about cars. Many people want the benefits of on demand transportation, without the hassles of ownership.

Yeah . . .  there’s about a 100 year gap in that history, which makes it totally meaningless at this point

Buy an old used car and put a bluetooth stereo in it then

You have no faith in science. We’re going to ban gas cars, outlaw racism, and get us some free education. All we need is the will to be good, and a government that will force the people that won’t. Utopia here we come!!!

That’s going to be the hard part to swallow in this. Comfortable middle and upper class people will get tax subsidies to help pay for their beautiful new green car. And poor people will end up paying twice as much for the shitty used left over ICE cars when the supply is cut off

No. They the problem you stated IN ADDITION to the problem I stated.

Sound like a standard description of how all politicians operate

It’s hard when you’re trying to push the envelope.

If they were only willing to lose money for 20 years, they could be the leader in a market segment that still barely exists 20 years later, and most players are losing money.

I like to assume things too, then mock others based on nothing more than the fantasy’s in my head.

They're going to be selling as many as they make initially. You'll just have to wait. In terms of demand, as well as environmental impact, last mile delivery is where it's at. It's the right call.

You left out the part where he talked down the driving dynamics of the Boxster, becomes it come standard with a manual gearbox instead of an automatic. LOL wut?

If you put a big battery in it, then the high price is the reason it doesn’t sell. Same problem, different reason.

The car was designed around the boxer engine. BRZ stands for Boxer, Rear wheel drive, Zenith. If you change that, the car is pretty much pointless. They should just design a whole new car in that case.

Why do you hate your mother? It's not healthy

I’m not surprised. EVs are still basically a niche product, appealing to nerds and tech/engineer types, or people who want a signalling device to show how green they are. Once the prices come down, I think we’ll see that change. A lot of normies would like to buy an electric car, but they don't want to spend $40k+.

Did your coil spring and hatch strut fail years ago, yet Subaru maintained it was your fault and you must pay for it yourself, then after years of multiple public failures, finally admit fault? (Tesla style)

Giving somebody what they want is manipulation?
