Ha! The one thing I can say for the aluminum block cars is that you really can feel the difference in weight. I’ve had both a naturally-aspirated Fiat 500 and an Abarth, and that block is a very big part of the almost 200lbs the Abarth gains over the standard car. The weight is very noticeable in a little car like

Gotcha. In context I don’t disagree; haven’t driven a car with carbon ceramic brakes, but I have driven a car with 400mm rotors and 6-piston calipers, and suffice to say it could bleed speed in spite of the lack of technology.

Congratulations! I’ve always coveted one of these myself and I just recently got driver’s seat time in one with the 6.0 V12. The sound.... Dear god. Not to mention how it breaks necks.

Let’s be honest - with an SRT-4, it probably depends on whether the tires are $30, 900C tread wear Pep Boys jobs, 7 year old Pirellis throwing cords, or something recent and sticky with actual compound left. Carbon ceramic brakes wouldn’t stop you if the tires are down to the belts.

:/

140mph in a rickety econobox feels pretty damn exciting, though. it makes the speed feel faster than it would in a composed car but properly out of “materials” with “craftsmanship.”

A slightly younger me loved doing this, and I guess I still do on occasion. My deal is to play on the cutesy girl thing, always dressed nicely (skirt suit/dress), and act a little timid (can you drive it out of the lot for me?)

Bright blue coupe, but basically yes. Got pulled over in that because “it looks fast. “I get on it more often now it in my much louder, much turboier, but slower-looking and bland-colored hatchback and nothing ever happens.

Iron blocks are becoming rarer for fuel economy reasons, but they’re still used plenty. The FiST and Abarth both swap the aluminum block of the lesser cars for an iron block for strength, as both are pushing almost 20psi of factory boost, for example.

Given that other small, turbocharged hatchbacks with shift-your-own transmissions exist for similar money, this thing simply doesn’t make any sense. It’s a mismatch of angles and lines that are completely unappealing. In a world with the Mazda 3, FiST, FoST, etc., who would look at this and say “yes obviously of

Did the Fiat 500 Abarth and 124 Abarth suddenly stop existing? The small cars they give a shit about just exist under a different brand in their portfolio these days. I mean, if you open the hood of an Abarth 500 and poke around, you’d find the Pentastar on things.

The majority of real police officers aren’t raping people but I am super skeeved out by the few who do. Being the victim of a crime perpetrated by the police is a terrible place to find oneself, because we’ve seen time and again that justice is rarely, if ever, served in these cases. I don’t really like to have any

True enough; if he was black, the cops would have shot him for refusing to drop his weapon (which is the car, his seatbelt, anything he is or isn’t touching).

Since when are “the millennials” ever involved in the “unintended” or “accidental” acceleration incidents? This person was probably a boomer. Hint: YOU’RE GETTING OLD AND FEEBLE.

Physics and engineering, for the practical application. The catapult was a good practical lesson, but another that can be useful is the egg drop, depending upon the parameters they allow for the experiment (you can’t just wad it in foam, etc.) We designed and made egg drop contraptions with crumple zones to send the

... The NYPD has found a way to make themselves even less respectable. Wow/gross.

“Do you know why I stopped you tonight, ma’am?”

The 500's not a bad place for a kid at all. I’m dedicated to having no children ever, but I do sometimes take my niece and she seems to like it. And car seats go in pretty easily, for as dinky and narrow of a car as it is.

Is this your Abarth? if you go to the stealership and ask nicely, they can completely turn the thing off. All the way. Forever.

People are unbelievably, catastrophically stupid. And most refuse to take responsibility for their actions.
