+1. While not as sharp as yours, I find this same thing in the Abarth. People simply can’t corner, and it feels like a ton of them practically come to a complete stop. Whereas I generally don’t even touch the brakes.

Not so sure; I kinda love this. I’d rather it be smashed like that on the passenger side, but this is almost the ultimate daily driver if you want people not to mess with you in traffic. What does it’s own stand to lose? Nothing, and I suspect the majority of really stupid road ragers would understand this too.
It’s not quite that bad, but it can be a bit frightening. I really enjoy it up there in summer. Not May favorite place to drive in the snow.
Came here for this. Over Memorial Day weekend last year, I got caught up there in a light snow storm, which was a bit of a surprise. It was also harrowing, because the ‘Barth was wearing summer rubber. Being a New Mexico moron and having departed 90+ degree temperatures that morning before hitting the Silverton area…
Right? I mean it’s [current year] for fuck’s sake, you'd think we'd be past this shit.
Harbor freight yo. You can get a whole DVR system with cameras for like $100.
“Security theatre” is such an accurate description. I really just wish they’d stop the act and let me take my gin and toothpaste onto the plane without making me wait for 3 hours in a line to pull my shoes off and go through the perv-scanner thing. Given the multitude of failures of TSA, it’s basically just an act…
If you’re going to be judgmental, at least be accurate. It’s not “people” on sport bikes who are the problem. I’ve never seen a woman engage in any of the typical bullshit that’s on display in these videos. It’s always men, in particular the young and stupid roid-rager type. Always.
This should totally be a thing. JalopGear Dog.
Love this. It’s the exact opposite of what the truck tard in the story did, nobody got hurt, no property damage, and it’s even kinda funny.
This, and that’s not to mention that the dipshit in the Dodge automatically takes up too much space with his stupid fucking dually no matter where he parks because the truck is too big for standard spaces. The appropriate response to this incident is to remove the plug from the oilpan of that Cummins, drain it, and…
Old, but the first frame of your GIF answers the question. There’s a silver Lada Samara in that frame, which means this was in Russia or somewhere where Russian cars are sold. And that means everything is permitted, especially this collision.
Indeed, having not been in a Kwid, I can’t know but you’re probably right. I bet it uses the cheapest and shittiest materials possible. I still can’t help but feel that there is probably a way to engineer these things to be less of a deathtrap, or that there would be a potential market for grey-market used cars from…
This this this. Smashing up a kid’s car is only something a shit parent would do, or even need to do. If they’ve been properly informed about the world around them and the actual consequences for their actions, chances are they will make better decisions.
Never thought I’d upvote a post about clamping cars (I have been parking illegally for years, years I tell you!) but I’m truly shocked. Where I live, though, I’d be more concerned about a car sold with plates left on being used in some kind of crime, or basically just never being registered at all.
This is how I have driven pretty much every manual-shift car I’ve ever owned, rented, borrowed, etc. It takes maybe 1 to 1.5 seconds to clutch out without the gas and then I smash the accelerator once it’s fully engaged. Because I’m watching the traffic ahead, the automatic sheeple around me never really know the…
I’d rather have the Elantra, too. The only thing the Fusion is better at would be the aircon in the poverty-spec ones that make up fleets. I suspect a lot of my avarice toward the Fusion would be alleviated if we had the 2.7 ecoboost instead of whatever the base engine is (it’s small and makes an unpleasant sound and…
I feel like the insurance premiums on the Focus RS are going to be absolutely through the roof as a result of this button and human stupidity. And of course it was a grabber blue RS, because it wouldn’t be a silver one, would it?
Thanks for the info! A few relays - ha! I believe it. I’ll educate myself on the years/ models to keep an eye out for, and pull these out of the next one that hits the pull-n-pay. Looks like fun!
That’s what it is for me - keeping it clean. Leather is easy to clean, and pretty durable as long as it is conditioned every year or so. Cloth seems so much more susceptible to staining, tearing, sagging/wrinkling, etc., despite best efforts to prevent it, and I hate how it holds dirt/hair/dust.
