Our college dining hall had several rooms separated by dividers that left a gap of two feet or so before the ceiling. A group of us staged three puppet show performances utilizing this gap as a stage and silverware as the players.

The first “show” was an incoherent spur-of-the-moment improvisation. The

Is telling your abusive husband that you're going on a two week trip to visit your parents and celebrate your pregnancy but then never coming back considered a prank? Because it felt like I was pranking him and it was definitely some of my best work.

But then I remembered how much money I make off of them!”

Gotcha—and I hear ya on the self-worth thing, for what it’s worth. I also can’t imagine myself doing work other than academic or academic-adjacent work, and this is central to who I am. Apologies to everyone who replied with lovely baby sling advice last week; I posted in SNS Saturday night but couldn’t stay up to catch any of the replies, usually I get to them on Sunday when that happens. This was an accurate and not fondly bestowed nickname. The first time I went to his apartment, he insisted that we watch Blue

It’s hard to schedule around, which is one reason why breastfeeding in public spaces is legal. Furthermore, there is nothing gratuitous about the activity -

“YOU’RE USING BOOBS WRONG!!!”

Sidestepping the whole legalisation-of-surrogacy thing, which is a topic that’s very interesting but which I am not qualified to speak on (except maybe to say those payments seem low for the work and risk, and that especially in the States the prospective parents should definitely have to pay for serious health
