First thing that came to mind. Well, that and some Atari stuff, but you probably can’t include those since they were never really designed to be beaten, and the controllers were hot garbage.

G&G for sure, both coin-op and console are a nightmare...

The only part of original MK that I ever found particularly challenging was the endurance rounds before Goro though, and Dark Souls games aren’t really “difficult”, they just require time and patience. I’ve never encountered anything in a Souls game that I

Yep, as much as I loved the original, this was the single biggest problem with it for me. Not only did every character only have one Super-Move, they only had one winning animation as well. It got super-stale seeing those things over, and over... Especially if you were playing a longer SP mode where you couldn’t

Ah. no doubt. I gotta try that out in emulation one of these days just out of curiosity. I only just found out it even existed a couple years ago; I never had a GBA.

Incidentally, according to the SF wiki (I just read), Akuma’s super was first included in that version: “Akuma can use the Shun Goku Satsu as a Super

No question. I’m actually more excited for this than I was SF5. I liked 4 and 5 very much, but there’s just an excellent fluidity to those older Sf2 (and 3 really) titles that they have never fully replicated in the 3D versions.

I can’t wait to play a SF game online again that I can actually be competitive at. Heh,

Ah, gotcha. I know I’ve played it, but I believe only through emulation; I was a Snes guy at the time (Actually, bought the Snes specifically for Sf2). Regardless though, that would still make it a unique version of SF2 then. Just crazy how many there are.

Hah, seconded. I still use my PsVR several times a week, and that store has been a flurry of activity the last month or so. The games are still trickling in at a steady pace and many of them are everything we were promised and more.

Farpoint finally releases tomorrow, and I’m as excited to play that as I was my first

Funny thing is, that is not even remotely every version of SF2, if you’re including ports, and special versions for specific consoles...

I don’t profess to know every iteration offhand, but the Gameboy version of “World Warrior” for example is actually a totally unique hybrid of multiple titles, and Turbo Revivial for

Ah, no doubt. Didn’t even think about cameras being an issue. I thought it was just an overreach on the the grey/blacked out ones I used to see a few years back. Like, a, we’ll just make them all illegal instead of needing to specify a darkness level like on windows. That makes sense though.

I’m not surprised that Texas would be a little more open about it, but these things are getting cracked down on pretty severely in other states, I assure you. A buddy of mine got pulled over and was offered the choice to ether remove the (100% clear) plastic licence plate cover from his rear plate or else get a ticket.

I don’t even think Cars 2 is all that objectively offensive; it just happens to be the first Pixar movie that doesn’t seem to respect its adult audience. Which is fine, it just becomes a movie I ignore when my kid watches it rather than one I can actually enjoy with him.

He definitely watches much more annoying crap

I suspect the toy popularity is starting to wane, because they have also clearly scaled waaaay back on them for this movie.

I took my son to the release day at TRUs, and it was shocking how small in scope it was. It was seriously like 6 or so new cars, a half-dozen Cars 2 toys repackaged with a 3 on them, and like 2

Yeah, I’m aware, my housemate when I was in my early twenties was a GS (EB at that point) manager.

Again though, doesn’t apply here. This kid was with his mother when he bought it. I believe they are supposed to inform the parent, but that’s it; they aren’t going to refuse a sale, especially a used game that helps

You tried to haggle with a retail employee on a price they didn’t set and have no control of? You get that wasn’t some arbitrary number he decided on and was set by the corporation, ya?

Heh, you really think it was in his power to change that for you? It’s not a flea market...

Uh, the developers got (their piece of) the cost of the game when it was first sold... Granted, they didn’t get a piece of the resale, but that’s just how our markets work in general. If I privately sell a Camaro I bought new I don’t have to give part of the money to Chevrolet. They already got theirs.

This is one

ESRB is just a recommendation; there are no laws to be broken.

The employee could get in some shit from the company if they had sold it to a kid against the store’s policy, but this one was with his mother anyway, so it’s irrelevant.

I think they are supposed to inform the parent of the content (per company policy),

Yeah, that’s a fair question, and based on articles like this one I have to assume for some percentage of them that you’re exactly right...

I’m just saying, when it dawned on me that it was simply an experience you could engage in at any hour of the day/night, to get real-time human interaction and be part of a

Counter point. Not so long ago (in the early 90s), there was a thing called IRC, where thousands upon thousands of us did exactly the same thing as Twitch viewers, except... there was no video stream. It was just the chat. I spent many hours every night on it, and even established some friendships and career

Hahah, yeah, those were the days; that’s largely over for the most part now... You might be able to “encourage” someone to pass you on things like tire-tread or window tint now, but obviously anything that comes up on their computer (like EVAP leaks) are not fudge-able. Plus, they’ve all gotten so wary of passing

Wow, way to take that far too literally... I wasn’t talking about any specific creature, just the Giger aesthetic in general. The lone engineer is also “eaten” by a vagina. Shaw’s Lovecraftian-parasite-baby is every bit as Gigeresque as any other creature in that franchise.

Also, this isn’t a contest. I’m not arguing
