I don’t feel like they were necessarily comparing the PsVR to the more expensive PC builds so much as just lamenting the tracking issues, which while intermittently reported based on the software and user, do seem to be getting a whole lot of attention at every major outlet today...

How the visuals stack up based on

You would never want that; just think of the logistics of it... Either the aiming reticule is attached to where you’re looking and you have to aim with your head (which I’ve done, and I promise you, it kinda blows), or it’s tied to a controller and your head moves independently, which isn’t really any better.

On top

You can buy a nice Google Cardboard headset and a bluetooth controller for less than that... Assuming you have an Android phone made in the last decade, you can get a very solid VR experience that way for about $30.

The power of the Ps4 has nothing to do with it... Photorealistic graphics are just SO not what matters in VR. The best experiences I’ve had were on lesser hardware and with much more stylized graphics. After 20 years of VR, one of my favorite things to play that I keep returning to is Quake VR on my Google Cardboard

I’d say so. Opinions on this particular hardware seem to vary dramatically, but I’ve been messing with VR for decades, have several home-brew units, and while I have yet to try Vive (which everyone pretty universally agrees is the best), I’ve demoed Oculus, PsVR, and GearVR, and all were capable of delivering a solid

Yeah, I feel the same way. I’ve tried the demo station, and I didn’t notice any tracking issues. I also read several other outlet’s opinions today, and watched a couple hours of live footage at GiantBomb this morning, and there is simply a monumentally dramatic range of opinion on how the hardware works... Not just

They did release a “new” camera just for this, (I believe it’s included in the larger bundle), but according to GiantBomb, it performs exactly the same and seems like more of an aesthetic change than anything.

And we don’t need new Move Controllers, what we need is better software for the ones we have and a much more

I’m in no way debating your preference to not have to breathe it in... I use an E-cig when I’m alone, but I would never do it near others (even outside), and I never let my son see me do it at all. It drives me just as bananas as you when someone vapes in a room he’s in, (despite my personal belief that it is likely

I think it’s more just a matter of what ecosystem you’re bought into. I’m an Amazon prime member, so it makes more sense to use their device and get that integrated functionality.

I’d prefer to have google’s search algorithms behind my chatty questions to cylindrical robots, but I just don’t think it outweighs the

Except there is no indication that he/she was vaping in the park... The battery exploded, end of story. It generally happens to them when they are over-charged, or in slightly less occurrences, when they are thrown into a purse/pocket, not shut-off/powered down, and ground out on another metal object.

Or in other words. Attract every insect in a 20 mile radius directly to you!

I have a projector in my house that is one of the great loves of my life, but the second you turn it on every fly, moth and errant piece of fuzz/dust immediately becomes the most noticeable thing in the room. I cannot even imagine what that

Well, if you don’t have a 4K tv with HDR, the pro is a debateable purchase in the first place. I’ll buy one at some point, but I’m not exactly chomping at the bit for it. If I was so concerned with having top of the line visuals, I’d be playing on PC...

And the Slim, I can totally understand having zero interest in. If

Well, if you don’t have a 4K tv with HDR, the pro is a debateable purchase in the first place. I’ll buy one at some

Well, there are games ported across the systems already... Maybe not 3 for 3, but there are Vive games coming to PsVR, and the Vive/Oculus have tons of cross-compatible titles. Some require you to bypass some DRM stuff or whatever, but the games do work.

The only stuff that wouldn’t really play nice is room-scale

Well, Job Simulator is coming for PsVR, and that’s a pretty big Vive title, so I wouldn’t say for sure that we won’t see some other ports from both camps to PsVR at some point.

Besides though, I can understand the concern over Oculus and Vive stuff not being compatible since they are on the same platform, but this is

Agreed, this kind of mentality always throws me for a loop... I feel the same way about the constant similar noise regarding 3D gaming/movies.

It’s fine that you have no interest in this thing, but why do you actively hope it goes away when a lot of us super-enjoy it? Beyond that, it also means a lot of

You don’t need exceptional amounts of power to run VR, you need power to run VR with current-gen visuals at high resolutions. PsVR is simply going to scale back on the visuals, end of story.

The Ps3 ran games in 3D just fine (granted at 720p), but that’s 90% of the hurdle right there; plus, the PsVR has a breakout

I have to wonder seeing this if civilians get X-rays when they are tased, or was this a special case because it hit the officer in the hand?

I’ve never been tased, but I assumed it was just a minor prick like a (barbed) sewing needle and that the whole point was that it didn’t do any serious damage.. (Apart from on a

Should I sell all my personal belongings and sever all ties to friends and family in preparation for living strictly in PlayStationVR worlds till the end of time?

Great write up of one of the most underappreciated, hypnotically entertaining films ever made. And that soundtrack.... just so amazing. Been listening to it for years and never tire of it. Totally turned me into a Mama Lion/Lynn Carey fanatic, and I didn’t even know she existed prior to watching it...

So stoked this

Fair enough, I’m just somewhat confused at the narrative that his TBI actually changes anything or somehow makes the situation any more egregious that it already was/is.

I have no doubt that a group of armed, threatening policemen are infinitely more disturbing/terrifying than simply driving through traffic normally
