White guy (I guess that makes me evil around here) from Flint checking in (does that earn me back any points?). What’s happened to my city is a comedic (because at a certain point you just can’t get angry anymore) travesty of incompetence from city to state to federal levels, and can confirm everything you said.

It’s obviously using FO4s engine, so I highly highly highly doubt it’ll be anything like an MMO, based solely on engine restrictions.

Ok, if you’re a troll, masterfully done sir/madam, I tip my hat to you.

Please note I didn’t say there SHOULD NOT be a 50/50 split, merely that EXPECTING there to be one isn’t realistic(well, I said dumb but...).

I’m going to go ahead here and be charitable in my reading of these two sentences and assume you mean to point out that while “underrepresented”, girls can perform at or above the level of their male peers in low level amateur races, therefore we should see more professional female racers. You seem, if the above is

Let’s look at this rationally here- If we go by the hate on Reddit, roughly 0.002% of the people downvoting the comment went on to send this poor guy death threats. Even if we narrow it down to the group of 1600 people attacking him, that’s still only 0.4%. Seven death threats is exactly seven too many, but FFS, don’t

Well, if you crash in the first six seconds...

To address your point (which I forgot to do originally), there is a fairly large consensus that intelligent thought seems to be a product of high level information processing and problem solving. Any science fiction fan worth their salt will tell you the computer technology seems to improve at an exponential rate.

You’re making the mistake of thinking an AI will even superficially resemble a human mind. It might even not be “conscious” at all. A phrase I’ve heard is something to the effect of “We could create a god wherein the lights are on but nobody is home”.

OK, so, I know I started this whole thread listing a few of the things that could go catastrophically wrong when we invent AI, so this may sound weird, but; Looking at humanity on a broad scope, inventing AI has a very good possibility of being the best thing we’ll ever do.

Once the AI designs the robots for you, it’s purely a matter of logistics until contractors switch to mechanized employees. To emphasize again, human brains cannot possibly fathom how quickly even our home PCs can process information (we can understand in an abstract, numerical sense, but not experientially). We can

So I’ve listened to enough very smart people debate AI to understand that Elon Musk and other people like him* aren’t so concerned with Terminator-esque scenarios. There are other major ramifications to creating an intelligent, laterally thinking mind that processes information at roughly one million times the speed

Thank goodness those people are all wearing shoes. I’m glad McLaren is a safety conscientious workplace.

It’ll be interesting to see how they keep snipers from being OP, unless they remove suppressors from all the sniper rifles in the game. In single player, enemies stop rendering at 650 meters, but I’ve seen youtube videos of people hitting out to 3 km in co-op(albeit with some trickery).

You mean the guy who just a couple weeks ago suggested we throw away “compromise” as an idea(i.e. literally the foundation of civil discourse and Western civilization) might’ve been wrong about something? Preposterous.

Everyone knows about SEALs, but hardly anyone remembers Delta Force (apart from maybe knowing they were the guys with black helmets in Black Hawk Down), and most people have never even heard of Force Recon (getting noticed counts as an unsuccessful mission after all).

He’s from about 300 years after the Sengoku Era, as well.

That’s literally the only plan that has any chance of not curtailing our freedoms (like an all out propaganda war would). But fuck that shit, we’re gonna reopen coal mines.

.50 BMG was originally designed (together with the M2) towards the end of WW1 specifically as an anti-aircraft round. Granted, you’re much more likely to hit a moving aircraft with a M2 than a M107 simply because you can put more rounds downrange, but it’s possible.

I don’t think anyone in the military has ever, or will ever, deny we shoot people with .50 BMG. We wouldn’t have thousands of M2 HMGs mounted on Hummers, M1A2 Abrams, Bradleys, Strykers, LAVs, MRAPs, Blackhawks, Chinooks, and dozens of other vehicles I can’t think of off hand, if we were squeamish about shooting
