OK, so I have a genuine question: Why is it considered legal or ethical for someone to rent or sell their donor email list data? If I donated to Clinton and only Clinton, shouldn’t I have an expectation that I won’t get random emails from DNC affiliates that I didn’t explicitly consent to?

Clinton was a deeply unpopular presidential candidate, and her approval rating dipped below 30% in polling conducted last month—making her even less popular than Donald Trump.

Yeah, but you’re assuming that your computer is working perfectly fine. It’s possible that it is broke and you just don’t know because Microsoft didn’t bother to tell you. I’m sure there’s security patches bundled in this, too.

Right. People who overshare on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter are the same people who overshare in person—the only difference is on social media I can block them once they get on my nerves.

Wow, this is a bit obtuse, don’t you think? The internet and social media didn’t eliminate privacy — it just made it a lot easier for more people to get access to your data and use it without your informed consent. The distinction might seem trivial, but I think it’s pretty important.

My hero.

Wow, I didn’t know the “to-go” person was an actual position; I always assumed it was a “whoever is available to do it” thing. That’s why I didn’t tip — I thought they were just waiters in a lull (except during obvious peak times like on holidays and such). I’ll definitely keep this in mind from now on. (As an aside,

I clicked on that “bad design” reddit link and...holy fuck. My eyes. I was not expecting that much commitment to the theme.

It’s kinda weird that you feel the need to express your bewilderment about why people choose to reproduce, when it’s been shown societies tend to collapse when they...you know, don’t.

When I learned that a lot of female animals can store sperm in their reproductive tracts until they’re ready to get pregnant or actually control when they begin to ovulate, if at all, that’s when I decided humanity is really kind of bullshit. “Most advanced life form,” my ass.

My initial reaction was to suck my teeth and refute Ms. Lawson’s argument too, but...I just had a conversation with a 30-something white woman who didn’t know that colorism was indisputable fact. (The best part? She’s a social worker.) I’m not a part of HBCU or Greek culture and never have been, but I knew what was

Eh, I’m going to say no on the outfit...have no idea if she went with the tired “Oriental” beats for the song so that’s still an open question. Chun Li is a specific character that happens to be Asian.

I get the point, but...focusing on the fact that Americans don’t know the exact number of Jews killed during the Holocaust seems...I mean, I don’t want to minimize it, but not knowing the exact number of people who were executed is NOT the same as “people are forgetting the Holocaust happened.”

I never learned anything past Reconstruction. Every single year, without fail, we learned about the Civil War, and nothing else. This continued into college.

What about mail that arrives to your address with someone else’s name on it? Is is still illegal to open it?

I’ve personally been reluctant to switch from cushy Cottonelle ever since a bad experience with Seventh Generation.

He didn’t have official permission from the record company, I’m guessing.

*shakes fist at sky* Curse you, France!!! I still haven’t forgiven you for “hors d’oeuvres” (which I just had to Google...again).

LOL! Luckily for me I give my feedback in emails and comments, not in person. ;) Although I’m sure hearing your editor pronounce a word wrong would make any of their criticism a lot easier to withstand, ha.
