Before Star Trek Shatner, Nimoy, Kelley, Doohan, and Takei were part of that vast pool of Hollywood character actors that people recognized but couldn’ t name. Just about everyone who guest starred in Star Trek probably worked along side one or more of these five in other projects.
You forgot the best part: Nimoy’s boss in the episode was played by Werner Kempler, the man who would go on to play Colonel Klink in HOGAN’S HEROES; after what happens to him in this show, he was EVER so glad he had Schultz as an assistant thereafter...

UNCLE also had a splendid 60s cool/smooth jazz theme song, written by Jerry Goldsmith. And that wonderful UNCLE logo. Chapter titles. And wonderful guest stars: Boris Karloff, Joan Crawford, Janet Leigh, and best of all: William Shatner and Werner (Colonel Klink) Klemperer and Leonard Nimoy, all in the same episode.…
