He was also my favorite author, and I knew this day would come, but damn. No Country was the first book of his that I read, then The Road, then everything I could get my hands on. His books turned me into a reader. He had a way of boiling down violent acts to their simplest form. The end of No Country comes to mind…

Well shit. He was my favorite author. I know 89, dying at home of natural causes, is a hell of a run but I’ll miss the anticipation of new works. At least I have The Passenger and Stella Maris still waiting on my shelf.
