I’m really sorry to hear that. I avoided covid for almost three years before catching it late last year. I “recovered” pretty quickly, in that I tested negative within a week of showing symptoms. But the effects definitely took longer than that to wear off. I would say that it took a full three months before I

Four months after getting COVID I still have some pretty bad symptoms. I’m immunicompromised so it’s no surprise really. It’s nearly impossible to get drs in my area to take it seriously. And I still wear masks a lot of places too. I wasn’t wearing one the day I got sick - pretty certain I know where it happened.
It’s

No clue? What a disingenuous liar she is. It was no doubt an attempt to create a story for idiots like her to further rail against immigrants, who have every right to come here legally, and otherize them more. It’s part of the cult of personality that strengthens the GOP and creates the conditions for Trump (or worse,

“Turns out the group behind the claim made it up. We have no clue why anyone would do such a thing.”

...or an explanation of how and to what standards, Fox News confirm[ed]” the false story.

I did not hear an apology in there anywhere, unless I missed it

During the band’s heyday and the years after, Smiths fans tended put all their focus on Morrissey, while critics tended to put all their focus on Marr. Meanwhile, Rourke is over here making their songs truly great. What a legend who never got a tenth of the credit he deserved.

Thank god Morrissey kept it classy. I was afraid we’d have another dismissive comment about Rourke being just a “session musician”.

Shocking that a professor has no idea how ChatGPT works!

It seems to me that the professor should try taking something that he knows to be an original work, like something he wrote, or something that was turned in years ago prior to Chat GPT and trying the same process he used. Seems like any PhD. worth his/her salt would know to use a control group in conducting any kind

So no RIM job for you?  I’m sure that was disappointing.  Did you offer him the $30?

I remember getting an interview at RIM in the mid-aughts. I was a broke university student looking to get a co-op term at one of the hottest companies in the world. I borrow my parents’ car, pay the $30 in gas, and drive from Toronto to Waterloo. The mid-manager there spends the entirety of the 15-minute interview

A lot of good boys and girls find their way to immortality in games.

I’ve done this, not with Pokemon but with World of Warcraft. Since the game launched I played the same Beast Master Hunter, which is a pet based class that lets you “tame” any beast type enemy in the game to be your permanent DPS pet. You can have a number of them in your stable.

I do this all the time, had a lot of dogs from my childhood and i bring their names forward in any game that lets me rename dogs. its not always the right breed or type, but who cares, it helps to kind of keep a version of them near.

this is why I have fish, and why I don’t name them.

Conversely, I find I no longer want play Pokémon anymore because I used to name one critter from every game after my late Corgi (whose perpetually sharp puppy claws were the inspiration for my screenname) and now the memory of doing so just makes me too sad.

Not a pet, but if there’s a Meowth in a Pokémon game, I always have to name a female one “Maddie” after the late Maddie Blaustein, Meowth’s original English VA.

I had to say goodbye to my Elsie on Wednesday. Thanks for this. I’m booting up Violet as soon as I get home and catching the most poodle looking Pokémon I can find (here’s hoping Furfrou is added in the DLC).

Oh no!  But 96, not a bad run at all, and what a life.  I loved him, and even got my little kids into his music.
