Almost all of my favorite films are from the 2060's. It’s an incredible decade for cinema. Who could know that the mainstreaming of dogging is the secret ingredient to making really heartfelt dramas about the human condition.

SB: Hello. I’m Shary Bobbins.

HA! Joke’s on you! I don’t have any friends!

I started watching this tonight and it’s pretty good! It’s no Vertigo (my favorite movie ever), but a fine movie for anyone who likes watching a middle-aged woman bathe for seven minutes, and then cut onions for another seven. In general I wish American film had more of a French aesthetic.

I mean, it’s a pretty big deal when the missing Monica Vitti from L’avventura shows up at the end of Taxi Driver to team up with Joan of Arc and take down Michael Corleone. It just won’t make as much sense if you haven’t seen them all in order.

My take aways

Today: Jeanne Dielman voted greatest film by Sight and Sound

So do I need to watch them all in order or just the post credits scenes?  :D

I really ought to watch the film for myself someday, but for now I’ll always remember In the Mood for Love as one of the movies Kevin Murphy writes about in A Year at the Movies: One Man’s Filmgoing Odyssey, a chronicle of his quest to watch at least one movie every day for a year in seemingly as many different

It’s a good choice, although I like Akerman’s News from Home even better.

“So yeah that album with the song by your wife about how much she love having sex with someone who’s not you? Congrats it’s your biggest hit ever and the one that will be remembered for generations after you’re all gone.”

Rumors is a perfect album. She lived a fantastic life and will be remembered through time, can’t ask for much more. RIP Christine McVie, the heart of Fleetwood Mac.

It will be even harder now to listen to Songbird without tearing up.

Don’t worry - if the anime adaptation of Steel Ball Run gets Tusk as its ending song (as it should), Fleetwod Mac’s reputation among the youths of today is going to be redeemed tenfold.

Hell, the first half of Fleetwood Mac’s discography doesn’t even sound like Fleetwood Mac.

Damn. We lost a great one. Her voice and lyrics just pierce your soul.

Really sad about this one. McVie had an incredible voice and an amazing songwriting talent.

Her birthname was Christine Perfect.

Really hate to hear this.  Nothing sounds like Fleetwood Mac.
