I’ve had my ‘05 GTO for more than 10 years and 100k miles so therefore I must be the worst kind of truly-awful!  

I actually think the GTO owner base is the least offensive out of the muscle/pony car crowd. Mustang owners are... well, Mustang owners. Camaro owners are better but skew pretty old, and Challenger owners have tunnel vision on making their next payment.

Love this car. They are now starting to get cheap with high mileage. I am tempted to make one my new commuter beater. An LS motor would be a lot more enjoyable than a 4 banger

The GTMonarO didn’t make the list? If we’re talking V8 coupes, it’s around one half of the cost of that E550, built like a tank, can be had with a stick and has a sizeable aftermarket. Also, LSx/T56 combo means anyone with a wrench can fix it or make stooopid power.

05 owner here.  Lots of mods on mine but frankly would probably be just as enjoyable if it were bone stock.  I’ll probably never sell it, there just isn’t anything out there that compares to it for the money.

I had an ‘05 RL in ‘09. Never heard of the door handle shorting or burning hands. But mine failed, and they didn’t have a solid fix for it at the time. Replacement door handles were expensive, and tended to fail too.
