They weigh nothing so less stress on trans/drivetrain when dropping clutch/transbrake from stratospheric rotary RPMs. Some of the fastest rotaries are starlets. Also lack of torque down low on a highly tuned rotary is less of an issue when you are pushing practically nothing.
