I would counter that doing a good job of mothering makes you a good mother. You don’t need to infer when there are 18 years of experience to refer to.

What a great ending but I’m sure that poor young woman is in agony right now to find out that her mom is not really her mom. I’m sure it will be difficult for her to face her bio parents. I wish them the very best and I hope she can find peace.
