You should probably add that the FDIC has said that the cost of this bailout will be paid for the banking sector as a whole through a special assessment (i.e. higher FDIC insurance costs), not by the taxpayers. That makes it different from the 2008 bailouts.

Hard disagree. The script was great.

You mean shit he did in the distant past? Yeah ok. Pity for your argument the things he did after, ya know basically the entire plot of TLOU, DID make him a hero at least to Ellie.

Which while simple on paper, is pretty damn brilliant of a move. Sure you can empathize with Joel. He has very real emotions and motivations, but Joel is also a mass murderer. That’s what some people can’t seem to wrap to wrap their heads around. Joel is both the protagonist and the villain of the first game.

Joel wasn’t a hero. That’s what people couldn’t seem to grasp and when he was killed, they lost their minds.

Absolutely! When Part 2 was announced, there was a lot of discourse around whether or not the original game needed a sequel. Now I can’t imagine the story having ended with the first game.

The discourse around 2, made me see how many people misinterpreted the entire story/ending and how they couldn’t separate the character of Joel from that of a stereotypical game protagonist.

The Last of Us Part 2 built incredibly well upon themes that were well established in the first game. The fact that the discussion surrounding that was so quickly coopted by people who thought the series was just another badass simulator is really pretty tragic.

And not just sales numbers. Gotta get those reservation numbers up too! Gotta get those used game sales up too! Gotta get those warranty sales up! Don’t forget to push the crap at the front of the cash register to get those multi-sku transactions!

Especially for places in strip malls like Gamestop. If you are in a actual mall you at least have other people near if there is an emergency.

Single staffing a retail store is dangerous and stupid. Especially when that single employee is there for nearly 12 hours. Good for her. Your life is worth more than a pittance from a company that doesn’t care about you in the slightest.

Folks that don’t think the transphobia is reaching “getting round up to be killed” levels haven’t been to Texas or Florida lately.

The folks in charge here are trying to get lists of trans people in their states and are super fucking chummy with pastors that have been calling for us to be lined up and shot in the head.

I think there’s a clear enough difference between being unable to avoid unethical consumption and being able to avoid it but doing it anyway. The scope of megacorporations makes it difficult to even see all the connections, let alone avoid them; likewise for the state of global manufacturing.

Especially when the main thing she’s often ridiculed for were statements about having bad actors in female only spaces

The problem is many countries only view the straight man as being worthy of human rights.

> Trans rights are human rights, but every country does human rights differently

She’s already fabulously wealthy so it’s hardly as if she gives a shit anymore anyways.

Trans rights are human rights, but every country does human rights differently

There is a trans NPC in the game. Not a particularly important person in the narrative, but the dialogue makes the trans identity clear.

As a mod in some other forums, this is practical. It’s not to say that the mods don’t clearly support trans rights and have a position on the issue (they do!), but as a practical nature of online discourse and the free nature of modwork and all opening this can of worms is a wonderful way to attract the worst kinds of
