Anything big and brand new will make you look pretty rich these days. Lease an Explorer, CX9, XC90 etc, and you look like the kind of person who can pay their kids’ tuition in full. (In the USA at least, where being able to afford paying college tuition in cash is something for the upper class these days.)
It’s tough, but that’s what makes it a real challenge. You have to be more creative.
This is a real Challenge, but I think I found the right one: 2008 Lincoln Town Car. You have to be OLD to look rich in it though. If I see a 70-80 year old man or woman get out of a impeccably clean 2008 Town Car, I assume that that person paid $60,000 cash for it when they retired. This type of rich person is more…
Dude they filmed both videos at the same time as Chris Harris, with the same cars. Chris was just able to get his video out sooner because being on YouTube made him more nimble. I love Chris Harris as much as the next guy too. Chill.
I’m in a similar situation to this guy. I bought a used Porsche Cayman and I can’t imagine getting more bang for my buck in the $20k-$25k range.

That’s a great option as long as the temperature is between around 20f-90f. outside of that range it’s not terribly safe to ride a bike for 45 min, especially if it’s icy or snowy.
At Porsche, a facelift means changing the color scheme and keeping everything else looking exactly the same lol
It’s definitely an understated slight at Top Gear.
And it was!
I just saw Concussion tonight. It wasn’t bad, but it certainly wasn’t what I hoped it would be. I hoped it would be much more scathing and triumphant, but it ended up focusing way more on Dr. Omalu’s relationship with his wife than on the NFL’s dipshittery. The love story seemed genuine, but it was incredibly boring…
Ariel Atom articles would be so much fun. Videos would be fun too IF you get a wind cover for your mic.
Cars should never have “a clutch” and only two pedals on the floor.
I gave up on This American Life a while ago because it just got way to cynical and melancholy. I listen to podcasts to learn and be entertained and the best podcasts leave me thinking aha! This American Life consistently leaves me with a temporary depression and a feeling of “ugh” as opposed to “aha!”
