In these very comments a guy is in here talking about how supercharging was bad from the “get go”. Yet he seems to completely forget the ZR1 was supercharged and ruined a lot of supercar’s days. The supercharging isn’t the issue. The issue is that GM clearly fucked this one up.

How cheap can GM get?

Meh, even the GTR has problems from time to time. The only legit, launch-it-50-times-in-a-row supercar that scoots to 60 in under3 seconds is the 911 Turbo S.

I applaud the air / water intercooler. Forced induction rules.

They can make whatever excuses they want, but the fact remains: they sent a car that they hand-selected themselves, along with the head of Corvette engineering, to go do this published test, and it couldn’t finish without major mechanical malfunctions. It’s obvious the Z06 was a step too far for Chevrolet.

I was considering a C7. None of the dealers around me would arrange a test drive. They told me I could order one and when it turned up, if I didn’t like it, I wouldn’t have to take delivery.

Well you guys by law charge anything over 80 with reckless driving, so.. not exception, it is a LAW.

Really, I can’t see any reason why one wouldn’t want to move to a hick infested kleptocracy.

Smart lady. No one in their right mind moves to Virginia or anywhere in the middle Atlantic.

You are legaly responsible for the vehicle, and you have to be able to take over the autonomous system at any point... you wont be able to drive these and have seizures or be blind or even have little beer and snooze on a way to work!

Honestly I’m pretty disappointed by this, Elon sold this as an autopilot not a fancy cruise control.

It’s truly terrible. Some of the worst traffic in the nation, especially considering the relatively-low population. It has grown worse over the years, too, if you can fathom that.

Not to mention FCA can’t have it cannibalizing Ferrari sales.

When I was a kid, I often had a dream where I would go back in time with a Dodge Viper GTS (1999) in gunmetal grey, to the late 1800’s, just before the industrial revolution really took off (Road to Avonlea, Little House on the Prairie time/setting period).

I dreamt that they would all stand in awe, the ladies in

They should make it smaller and cheaper, offer it with the choice of either the 392 or HellCat engine and compete with the Corvette Z51 and Z06.

The Viper price tag is in that weird tween stage where you will either talk yourself into getting 95% of the car for 75% of the price (C7)... or talk yourself into a 911 for a few grand more.

Not much to add besides being glad that everyone is alright. Also, this classic:

Diesels are not held to a tougher standard, they’re held to the exact same standard as gas engines. And bigger diesels are held to a looser standard.

The 40x result was included in the study with other manufactures but if you recall there are many studies going on right now as a result of this that show that many cars are 2-3 times over their limits in the real world...even without the cheats. The case with VW was that they took it to the next level and omitted

Can we just stop pretending that VW is the only company that knew/knows how to game the emissions tests? Who honestly believes that other manufactures don’t do this to some degree? VW took it to the next level and blatantly cheated but you don’t think that Ford plays this card with the EcoBoost engines that excel at
