I have the GE version of these, Sealed Beam LED on my 81 VW Rabbit Pickup. Expensive, but awesome! They feel like very well made units, (heavy!) and are bright, looks like a brand new vehicle at night from the front. They are designed for long haul trucks to last many many miles.

Uh... the current Jeep Wrangler does not have sealed beams. They did up until 2007, but not anymore.

Don’t tint your tail lights. There’s a reason they’re not already tinted. I can’t stand to be behind someone with tinted lights that are meant to let me know when they’re slowing down or stopping.

My Dad was in the Coast Guard and stationed in Port Angeles, Washington when DB hijacked the plane. They were actually on standby to follow the jet, until everyone realized that a Grumman Albatross couldn’t keep up with a jetliner.
Dad’s job was radar and electronics/radio. It’s still one of my most favorite stories

So my older brother (whom we will refer to as the luckiest SOB on this side of Earth) decided to do this on a 2nd Gen. SHO just before he graduated college. He felt he didn’t want to deal with making payments as well as studying for finals or some other BS reason. I don’t know nor do I really care all that much. So as

I’ve posted this on Jalopnik before, about 6 years ago, but it’s worth a repost. If you are stuck in a car, do not think “I’ll just wreck it” will work, just like the voluntary Repo you are in for a world of hurt you do not eve fathom. On with the story:

Don’t forget to make sure your headlights are aimed correctly.

That, my friends, is a slipping transmission.

The year is important when calling out the JK interior. 2007-2010 JKs (the Daimler/Nardelli era) had really crappy interiors, as did all Chrysler products of the time. Hard plastic, exposed screws and a general “cheapness” were all present.

troverman, you have no idea how this would sell. With the Colorado/Canyon and likely the new Ranger growing as large as old-school full sized trucks and even the Tacoma and Frontier hinting at larger, they’re opening an all new market for people who want true compact trucks the size of the original S-10/Ranger/imports

V8? Why does it need a V8? It’s pumping out 285 hp and 260 ft-lbs. That’s plenty.

I can clear a couple of misconceptions as yes, the car in that picture is actually my car:

We could limit them to 100hp like those cheese-eating-surrender-monkeys, but that’s not an America I’d want to live in.

there’s an extreme price disparity for Porsche 911’s. think of it more like an inverted bell curve (go ahead and google it to refresh your memory). these things are ridiculously expensive new. within the next 5-10 years they begin to drop in price. it isn’t until they drop low enough to when the, “cheap bastard that

This photo says it all...

I’m perpetually bitter that I love a car that’s absolutely surrounded by pretentiousness and inflated prices. I rarely talk about my love for the pre-1970 911, 912, 356 or 914 with friends. I just don’t want to be associated with the scene. Sometimes I find myself justifying my affinity. For me, I think, it’s the

I blame google. It’s what it gave me.

I really don’t think the craze over 911s at the moment is a “Bubble”. It’s a simple reaction to the new 911s and the fact they will never be able to make those 911s again.

“You Germany in question not!!!! That’s for us to know, and you, to find out!” Dude, what the fuck?

On other point the collector car market is driven by what was popular when guys in their 40s-50s were 16, this means for the most part cars from the early to mid 80s which let’s face it sucked donkey balls or were and still are unattainable poster cars, the is one exception the Porsche 911. Made in high enough numbers
