Doesn't take much to scare Walter Rohrl. Except the CGT.
I repeat this every time the IMS comes up, so I’m contractually obligated to do now, but the truth is that there is an awful lot of hype about the IMS and very little in the way of verifiable fact to back it up. Let’s lay out some basics.
Hahahahahahahah, your an idiot. Porsche owners are usually pissed when the car is in the shop.
Oh geez. Have fun with your Buick.
What a ridiculous statement. Somehow — SOMEHOW — I manage to do both. Stop trying to camouflage your laziness with prowess, bro
This just isn’t true anymore. Over half the company’s sales are Cayenne and Panamera, and those are daily driven. The numbers still haven’t changed.
I think there was a general feeling around the office that once the Panamera and Cayenne came out, the JD Power numbers would drop like a stone because they were no longer third cars owned by fastidious dealer servicing rich guys.
Owners of PORSCHES are too proud to complain online?
Can’t say I’ve ever met anyone at meets, shows, events, cruises, autox or track days with your attitude of taking care of your shit is not something real car guys do.
You are a rare breed my friend.
CP. She admitted to not regularly changing the oil.
Just stop already. You’re embarrassing yourself. I’m going to guess by the number of cars you claim to have owned that you are at least 50 years old. Grow up!
I guess a “rat rod” Porsche can be cool if that’s your style but come on one headlight?
There is a balance between polishing your car with a diaper every other day and neglecting the shit out of it like the guy in that photo.
Exactly. Porsche really nailed the interior with the 991 and 981. Modern, simple, luxurious where you need it, but most importantly, everything feels in the right place for a sports car. The row on buttons along the transmission tunnel is fantastic.
That was sarcasm? Either you don’t know what that means or don’t know how to write it.
Having a 911 has always been my dream as I have always seen it as an expensive aspirational car but one that might actually someday be attainable if I work my ass off. As a teenager, the babied flachbau (slantnose) 930 that sat in my friend’s father’s garage always made me feel tingly as did the 993 turbo owned by a…
As a 996tt owner who researched the hell out of Rennlist before buying, I can confirm no known catastrophic failure modes. Coolant pipes can fail, and that’s a $3k+ engine-out fix, if it happens to you, but it’s a one-time fix and it doesn’t grenade the engine (happened to me a couple month ago). Just pull over, get…
Great article, Doug. The most reliable, bullet-proof car I ever owned was a 1985 Corolla LE. Nobody believes me that the second is my Boxster. Yeah, I’ll probably get the IMS replaced when the clutch goes out, but year in/year out it just starts, runs, and puts big smiles on my face without a hitch.
