This is an especially exciting moment for me, since I’m a big fan of your work. I bring up your article about Bioshock’s use of violence in my own video about it. Thank you for taking the time to watch a video that I very obviously made mostly in my garage, and thank you doubly for sharing it with others.

If we're talking about GamerGate and traditional racism, I've always had a pet theory about that— but I think you're overstating the point. Gamergate isn't explicitly sexist in the way white power segregationists are explicitly racist, they're softball reactionaries like white pride racists, who aggressively defend

Hey, thank you! I really appreciate that. Been looking for that posting permission for a long time, I'll definitely poke my nose around.

Today I finished a retrospective of the entire Mass Effect trilogy and its DLC— give it a try if you've got the time and inclination for some at-length Mass Effect analysis.

Would you mind posting it to main tay? I don't have permission to, so it's stuck here on tayclassic unless someone helps me out with that.

My day's going pretty damn great seeing as I finished the gaming video I've been working on for four months. In anticipation of Dragon Age 3 (and the fact that it'll be somewhat Skyrim-influenced) I done did myself a multi-game retrospective on Skyrim, both Dragon Age titles, and all their DLC.

Here's a video that looks at all of the games in order— it makes a little more sense when you consider the design values of the whole series.

I want to talk in this guy's defense as an amateur youtube critic myself. I don't like any of his videos. But damned if I'm not impressed with what he's managed to accomplish with them. I work in food service, as a pizza cook, and I'm working my way up through college— I have no credentials whatsoever to participate

I don't think you should have to be credentialed to do game criticism. I'm a pizza cook, but I do in-depth amateur game reviews myself, and frankly, I love the freedom of it to talk about the things I felt were important and unique. It's great, from a content producer perspective, simply because we do it for free and

May I have an authorship? I recently made a travelogue about a long trip in a weird car, and it seems right up Opposite Lock's alley.

There's also the phenomenon of long-form game criticism. Amateur game critics are putting out long, detailed looks into games— more detailed than a major gaming news outlet would have time or inclination to produce. Angry Joe is vaguely in that category, but the Errant Signal guy, Campster, is a much better example.
