Word to all of that. I was at a liquor store maybe 10 years ago and this Latino dude in front of me in a long line would not stop with the nigga this and that while talking to his (uninterested and also not black) girlfriend. After about 5 minutes of this, I tapped him on the shoulder and told him that if I heard him

The Biracial Concerns and Affairs department of the Quadroon Society will be in contact with you shortly to address your concerns.

Do we truly boycott anything, these days? We don’t want to give up the convenience. What’s a few mistreated black folk? I gots to have my mocha latte, baby! /s

note How Black men have no problem portraying black women as warriors or freedom fighters for them (as in Black Panther and this here Glover video )

And why does everybody keep calling her his wife? They’re not married. That’s his baby’s mama.

It’s really lame that the discussion has been reduced to this after one bad comment, when the issues always was how black women are represented in his work.

Excellent article, as usual. Of course a person is still Black, and still having a Black experience no matter who they like to spend time with.

Yesha, you’re 13 and you want to be white. The psychiatrist (who your Momma and Daddy don’t have time or money for but the school said you need to go) says,

Are there even any white people in Atlanta?

I always root for Black people in everything. That said, I don’t trust this man because he is not here for Black women. He had an interview maybe 5 years ago where he and Terrance Howard discussed how great white women are and how being with them represents freedom and progress or some such shit. That’s the interview

They focus on the producers because producers penalize pushy women (even when they are pushy through agents) by spreading rumors that they are “difficult.” Many women have had careers ruined by trying to demand more in this way. Whereas with men this is expected and encouraged.

You’re missing nothing. Others are missing common sense and good judgement. I find it to be an epidemic from way back. I have had two cousins beaten viciously by their husbands and watched as my family and the police did nothing. I had a knife held to my throat by an abusive ex and nothing was done. We need to start

Not to be rude but you can tell she’s not black by the way she’s aging.

Patagonia needs to cut my man a check.

Have they tried stepping on the students?

You mean “Djimon Hounsou”?

Jeeeesus, it is stated in the article that there will be no examination of why there is a wage gap or an argument that a wage gap is due to social prejudice against women. It is literally just pointing out areas where women tend to not invest in the same ways as men and may be missing out on financial opportunities

I appreciate that O put Ms. Taylor in their faces. She used her platform to educate and elighten. And I especially appreciate that she did not refer to herself as a “woman of color” but as a BLACK woman!

We are losing our cultural heritage to privatization. There are almost no free museums in this country and millions of “museums” that are barely more than sets for instagram posts.

People like Jeff Bezos are the reason I won’t make it even 2/3 of the way to 80.
