I’m screaming. She could have had the students read the passage to themselves, but she HAD to show her whole ass. I can’t...

You are not lying about diet costs. I’m a vegetarian and eating plant-based meals often require bigger portions to keep you full. Even if you opt out of fake eat substitutes, bigger portions definitely factors into the overall cost of maintaining a healthy diet.

Commenters are rightfully pointing out that articles giving advice to “people” who want to get in “shape” (i.e. skinnier) for their wedding are nearly always focused on women. It’s sexist for outlets to constantly publish GET SLIM FOR YOUR WEDDING advice under the guise of health to women.

I’m sorry, learning people hate this song is like learning about infinity for the first time: I just don’t understand. The lack of taste just jumps the hell out, doesn’t it?

I think Ohanian may have good intentions, but his tweet is a bit performative. As people have pointed out, he has a Black wife, sister-in-law, and mother-in-law. They may all be able to teach him how to do hair, and maybe he’s taken advantage of his access to their knowledge, but he’s still joking about being white

I’m rooting for Meghan so hard because of all the ridiculous racism she faces, but that quote about her kid being a“child of color” made me do a double take. The discourse around biracial/multiracial representation is really weird.

I appreciate your thoughtful response. I think culturally, society has reached a sticky point in the march for Black representation and female empowerment, especially when it comes to issues like sex and body positivity. I don’t want to be dismissive of agency and personal choice, and I apologize if my comment came

I’m not feeling this coverage of this as a milestone without any critical eye to what it actually means. Like, is it a good thing that this white-owned and probably predominantly white-consumed publication is allowing for Black women to be objectified too?  Making Black women available for objectification is not a win

“MRAs” are clearly a group of deranged and deeply sexist men. Think about this lawsuit. Instead of using their time and resources to end the draft for men, they fought to ensure women are included? That is absurd and does not protect men AT ALL. They consistently attack women’s spaces instead of creating men’s spaces.

I’m about halfway through the book and while it’s overall and enjoyable read, there’s something very stilted about it. Like, even in her own damn memoir, she doesn’t fully let her hair down and tell us how she really feels. When she talked about Princeton, I was shook that she lamented not having more white friends.

RIGHT? Like, we get it. Killing people is wrong. But as far as I’m concerned, she did society a favor, she has more than served her time, and she needs to be fucking released.

But, is there evidence that Travis Scott has any political consciousness? He’s Black, but he may not give a fuck about Black people.

Right? Give them cash too. Just naming a building after her is for the birds.

This answer infuriated me. Instead of considering critical mass and addressing what it means for the space as the attendees change from Afro to not-so-many-AfrosPunk, they make some weird remark about important whites and bigotry. What the hell?

THIS. Obviously, things cost money, but at the Brooklyn AfroPunk in August, they had these huge multinational brands pimping their products (e.g. Shea Moisture, Toyota, WHOLE FOODS), and yet the tickets, food, and drink were expensive as fuck. They had signs up that said “Support Black businesses” but they dedicated sp

Man spends hundreds of words on #notallmen because hyperbole is bad instead of addressing the toxic masculinity that affects all women on a near daily basis. LOL, sounds about right...
