The obviously correct ruling here, that would have been in line with past precedent, is that a business owner cannot discriminate against another protected class based on a religious belief, no matter how sincerely held that religious belief is.

I don’t think it’s saying that, but rather that any political content at all causes an uproar.  And I don’t think there are many comics that are okay with just not addressing anything remotely political at all.

They haven’t made a ruling on it one way or another yet. So what has changed, ultimately? What was true today that wasn’t true two days ago? We didn’t know where the Supreme Court sat on the issue then. And we don’t know now. Nothing is different.  You’re acting like some previous ruling was overturned here or

It says that the commission had to be neutral to his religion, but that the commission was biased against it. You’re ignoring this part of the ruling:

Oh look, another dick.

You think that paying regular minimum wage for servers would cause a ten dollar increase in the cost of dishes? You have no idea how money works.

I understand the value of it being a protected class, certainly. But I also thing it is a little iffy, because I strongly believe in a right to discriminate based on political beliefs, and the two overlap so strongly and...honestly I don’t really see much of a difference between the two. Religion and politics are both

If you don’t understand that there is a difference between an explicitly religious institution (a church) and a freaking bakery, then you’re beyond reason here.

How are you reading this and arguing with me?

As amazing as the sci fi elements are in that run, the thing that really makes it arguably my favorite comic run of all time is the beautiful usage of the family themes.

On these facts, the Court must draw the inference that Phillips’ religious objection was not considered with the neutrality that the Free Exercise Clause requires

But he’s refusing based on their sexuality.  it isn’t like it is a product he just doesn’t sell.  He’s selling it, just not to them, because of their sexuality.

No it doesn’t.  The Supreme Court just says that the baker didn’t get a fair trial the first time.

Because political beliefs aren’t a protected class.

The difference is that being pro-Hitler is a choice.  Being gay isn’t.  Political beliefs aren’t a protected class, and they shouldn’t be.  Sexuality should.

But...aren’t they already picking one protected class over another?

I think that if you aren’t willing to run a business without discriminating, then you shouldn’t start a business.

Oh, his FF is even better than his Avengers.

I really didn’t care much for Metal, but I loved No Justice so I’m looking forward to this.  I kinda get the feeling it is going to be to the Justice League what Hickman was to the Avengers, so I’ve got really high hopes here.

This is entirely unrelated but...Rita Moreno is definitely an attractive 86 year old.
